Crossing over the narrow mouth of Loch Roe, a rickety and narrow road bridge sings lovely harmonics as the prevailing westerly wind passes across it.

A warm and still day with with the only other sounds above the distant surf being the 'ubiquitous sheep', insects, meadow pipit, and a loud passing car.

Above Achgrave 1

On the way west to Melon Udigle near the Loch na Beistie, the road passes above the hamlet of Achgrave. It was beautifully tranquil scene with only the ‘ubiquitous sheep’ and the sound of a Common Snipe and Meadow Pipit heard above the silence.

While wandering around under Coire na Ciste, I heard an extraordinary sound that I took at first to be a flock of exotic birds.  Eventually my ears drew me to the sound of burn whose flow was being extruded through a tight mix of moss and rock.
