Taking a brief respite from the upcoming zine launch, SMUT Press is beyond thrilled to announce Lovecat as the sixteenth mix in our SMUT mix series.  Lovecat is the former alias of Expresso and moniker of London-based legend Martina. As well as founder of Arize, one of London’s freshest club-nights championing her cheekily titled “Tr4nnyT3k” sound, Lovecat has been rapidly assuming position as one of the scene’s most exciting sounds with the most beloved looks. Recent gigs at 2c-perrea and Riposte as well as in Leeds for Rat Party showcasing this talented selector’s prowess,  expect to hear lots from her over the next while.  This one is really for the girls with the boomin system -  hard and fast techno cuts, reggaeton and power pop edits. You can catch Lovecat at Dalston Superstore on May 7th for Female Trouble. Major luv to Martina for putting this together for us!

PEDER MANNERFELT, also known for his work with Swedish producer duo Aasthma, is a maverick producer of completely unconventional and original music, from dance music to experimental music, and also runs his own label, PMP. He has also produced music for Bjork and Fever Ray outside of his own productions. We look forward to seeing how you receive his letter, in what situations, and how you read and interpret it. LUCKER's participation on Nina Kraviz's trip recordings V.A. album in 2020 was followed the next year by the release of his mini-album "Sapiens" on the German label Molten Moods. This time around, he mixes his trademark hybrid-sound (Techno, House, IDM, Bass...) with unique elements and obvious melodies to create a new original worldview. MARTSMAN is the founder of the enigmatic German label Weevil Neighbourhood, and his solo works are truly timeless underground DnB. His special sound effects have made a big impact in unparalleled post dance music, such as "Lenses Dances LP" by the duo Bokeh with Katsunori Sawa. His signature style is sure to work well with the listener's senses on this release. GALTIER is a Bristol DJ/Producer and label founder of Nostro Hood System, a thematic label focused on the xenology. The fresh atmosphere characteristic of his music affects the listener's dynamic and creates the illusion of time travel. This song “Zmoke Fronds” is another dance track that is triggered by his system. KWARP, appearing for the first time on 10 Label's 10th release, has plunged a new song, "Coco," into this compilation. "Coco" intersects orthodox and experimental sounds based on the groove of dance music, leading the listener into a different space, dangerous and indulgently.

The other podcast is by our close friend and Chaya co-founder Dr. Schock. This is the second time she appears in our soundcloud-biosphere, the first time was a live recording from Blechsonne festival, where she tore apart the floor. This one exists on the more mellow side of the fast+nice musical spectrum. Break- and jungle influenced drums walk you through the mix as a common theme. With airy pads floating above it picks up pace into techno-ish trance territory without loosing its dreamy touch for long. This mix fits perfectly into the "other" side of our sound, showcasing some breaks and general diversity apart from the "harder, faster, stronger" approach we've been showing in the last months. Take this as a little foreshaddowy hint on what's coming with our next event. We've got two international artists, announcement around the corner. Enjoy this mix!

Dr. Schock aka Laura is a Vienna based DJ. Born and raised in Germany, she discovered her love for various music genres at early ages and started playing the piano with 7 years. Today, her sets are breaking up borders of genres, mostly focused on bass, techno, trance and jungle with a pinch of ambient and hip-hop. While putting her sets in a conceptual framework, she loves moments of surprise, has a soft spot for dreamy tunes and lays a strong focus on eclectic sound.
