Day 16 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did The Ultimate Show from Super Paper Mario. Another game that is the black sheep of its franchise, Super Paper Mario has been getting a lot of love recently - and it definitely deserves it! It has a truly enthralling story (yeah, plot. In a Mario game, of all places!) that I'll try my best not to spoil here (though the thumbnail may have spoiled something, now that I think about it.) But the final boss theme is one of the best in the Mario series. Something about it always felt a bit... off to me, though. So I gave it a good old-fashioned touch-up and made this. Enjoy!

Day 26 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did the Champion Battle theme from Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow. The original song had no drum line, but I added one because it sounds better that way (in my opinion). I'm also trying out a new mixing software for a - hopefully - richer sound. I don't know if the effect will work on all devices or only desktop. I hope it's the former. Enjoy!

Day 27 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did Evil Alien Tatanga from Super Mario Land. Not much to say about this one, besides the fact that that mixer I was talking about works anywhere, not just desktop. I confirmed yesterday. Another thing I confirmed yesterday is that it sounds even better with headphones. I'm almost there, and I think I know what I'll do for the remaining songs. Enjoy!

Day 28 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did the Great Palace theme from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. This game gets a bad reputation, but if you play it with save states/rewind and a guide, it's really fun. Dark Souls-esque combat on the NES hasn't aged that well, but the game is a fun one to pass the time. Not much to say about the song, though, except for the fact that I REALLY like how it came out. Day 29 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did the Chaos Shrine theme from Final Fantasy. I made this one really quick as well - it took me around 15-20 minutes to do in total. Great song, as usual. Notably, this is the only Final Fantasy song I plan on doing. Sorry, One-Winged Angel fans. That one was simply too complex to do in one day for me. Maybe one day I'll do it separately. Enjoy!

Day 30 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64. One of the most beloved entries in the series, Mario Kart 64 is where modern Mario Kart began, now free from Mode 7's limitations and in full 3D. This Rainbow Road is the longest track in Mario Kart history by far, taking almost 6 minutes to complete. The song, though, is a bittersweet melody that perfectly compliments the final track in the game. I thought it fitting to do this track, seeing as how we're 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 stretch of March Madness. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞 is approaching, and I can't wait. But there's always this track in the meantime. Enjoy!

Day 31 of March Madness, where I challenge myself to remaster 1 final boss/final area theme from a video game every day. Today, I did In the Final/The Grand Finale from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. You can call it either name, but I like to call it In the Grand Finale. A portmanteau of both titles. This song is really popular, and I know that there are better versions of it out there, but I'm proud of this one. With this song, March Madness is finally over. Thank goodness. I definitely bit off more than I could chew with this one, and while it was fun, I don't plan on doing something like this ever again. But it was a good time while it lasted. As for what I'll do now? I think I'll take a break from sequencing for now. 31 songs in one month is a lot. You may not see much activity from the account for a while. Or maybe I will just keep on sequencing. I don't know. But the only way to end this super-long description is the way I've always ended these descriptions.

In the Final(Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)(March Madness: Final Boss/Area Themes Remastered)

Thanks everyone for patiently waiting. 3 years 9 months is how long I've been stuck on this track. I would always quit and do some other track, and this one always kept nagging on me until I finally gave myself an ultimatum to finish this up or none at all. I spent nearly every day of the pandemic working on it. Zelda II is such a different beast compared to the rest of the series, which is why I am an apologist for it. I really like how populated the world is, and funny enough it's still the game furthest along in the timeline. I treated it as if it was everyone's favorite in the series. This may be my only track where you see a perfect mesh of story, visuals, and music working in perfect sync.

Hello, everyone! I should probably explain why I haven't uploaded for 2 months. I guess the whole March Madness thing burned me out more than I thought. But I'm back and (hopefully) here to stay. I'm not necessarily intending on remastering the whole soundtrack of SM64, but I got some inspiration earlier today to do this. I'm going to be a lot more freeform from now on - you'll find various different types of songs from all sorts of games. But I like how this song turned out. Enjoy!
