A Bermudian born journalist who has lived in Manchester, United Kingdom for the last four years.  She currently is the co-host of The Daily Hour, Bermuda’s #1morning (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2kbBxM5-Tg)talk show; passionate about providing a safe space for women to discuss issues affecting them and viable solutions, six years ago Carla founded the annual Women's Empowerment Summit (Bermuda); which has been attended by close to 700 women to date. Carla plans to expand the brand in the UK.

In 2018, four years after launching her own online news agency, Carla decided to switch gears and launched www.SheHUB.tv, which is dedicated to women. In a bid to expand her brand further, Carla took the decision to launch SheHUB magazine in March 2021, which is dedicated to Black and ethnic minorities. It is available both in print and digitally.

Carla is a Journalism graduate of the University of Georgia in the US and in 2019, decided to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Relations and Digital Communications from the University of Salford and successfully completed her degree during the pandemic…all while raising three children and working from home.

Operation Black Vote OBV
Greater Manchester Combined Authority have published online their partnership with OBV in relation to OBV leadership programme. Interesting.  In 2019 GM did announce that they would be looking to work with OBV after the George Floyd murder (https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/.../greater.../). This is interesting especially after what now know by way of Marcia.  Is this a good thing? Is this the way we need to go?  Do OBV know what Manchester’s Black community needs are?  Are Manchester needs the same as London?

He is the author or editor of eighteen books, the most recent of which are Black Star: The African Presence in Early Europe, published by Books of Africa in London in November 2011 and African Star over Asia: The Black Presence in the East, published by Books of Africa in London in November 2012 and revised and reprinted in April 2013. Anthony is an author, publisher, cultural historian, artist, and an educational consultant. He is a graduate of Howard University’s College of Fine Arts and has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Africa, Caribbean, Mexico, Japan and Europe, on issues related to African and African American History and Culture.

Mr. Browder is the founder and director of IKG Cultural Resources and has devoted 30 years researching ancient Egyptian history, science, philosophy and culture.

He has travelled to Egypt 47 times since 1980 and is currently director of the ASA Restoration Project, which is funding the excavation and restoration of the 25th dynasty tomb of Karakhamun in Luxor, Egypt.

Browder is the first African American to fund and coordinate an archaeological dig in Egypt and has lead five archaeological missions to Egypt since 2009. http://www.asarestorationproject.com/index.php

Mr. Browder’s three decades of study have lead him to the conclusion that ancient Africans were the architects of civilization and developed the rudiments of what has become the scientific, religious, and philosophical backbone of mankind. What is being done about making the community feel safe and protected?

As a result of the recent Murders on Friday 20th May an area Section 60 was put in place in moss-side.
Many people are concerned at the blanket Section 60 and believe the the whole community were being criminalised.
Many young people are believed to be in fear of policing in Moss-Side therefore working to stem this violence has become more daunting. Also with the never ending austerity cuts which as decimated the youth service; as a lot to answer for; according to many young people and adults within the community of Moss Side.

Is this another return to Gunchester?
Is this a gang war between African Caribbean and Africa-Somali youth?
How are the police working with the community?
Is stop and search working?
How should young people respond to being stopped and searched?
Are the police tactics part of the problem or the solution?
What are the young people within Hulme/moss side views of police treatment?

Kimpa Vita was one of the first African women to fight against European dominance in Africa during the colonial period & expose the racism and misogyny in the Catholic church. She was the founder of the first black Christian movement in Sub-Saharan Africa; fought all forms of slavery, and tried to reconcile Christianity with African religions and beliefs, teaching people that black saints mingled with white saints in paradise. This was revolutionary, since Catholic priests in the area (Capuchins) taught that ONLY white saints could be found in heaven.
Kimpa Vita was killed in 1706, burnt to death charged with being a witch.
