Club South is growing fast and diversifying widely, inviting a generation of up-and-coming producers from the burgeoning Texas club scene to the label's very first compilation.

Having laid the foundations of the imprint with the release of several EPs, singles and packs by founder Royo, followed by a series of mixes and a radio residency, the Southern label is now presenting the scene in which it gravitates.

Entitled Club South presents Pop Trunk, the release features no less than 17 tracks by 18 producers from the new wave of Texas club artists. Invited to join the party are: Amarji King, ANGIIE, Alexia Domini, Big Ace, Don Rey, goodfat, Hiram, Hustlecry, IDKRYAN, lil boi 13X, M1SSY, Nio Future, slwkng, Squincy Jones, LZRCAT, WQ, Young Brown, and of course Royo himself.

All of them are residents or regular performers at parties ranging from local clubs and bars to larger venues and sponsored events. They also host shows or have their own residencies on local community radio stations like Ice House Radio. In short, this casting highlights the existence, consistency, diversity and continuity of a truly exciting local scene.

In terms of musical styles, the release shows the plurality of club aesthetics that make up the state of Houston: juke, footwork, chopped and screwed reminiscences, Baltimore club, garage and other experimentations including Brazilian funk or the ballroom universe.

In addition to showcasing a whole scene of artists, the compilation also (above all?) has a charitable purpose: all profits will be donated to the Kid's Meals association, whose aim is to deliver free, holy meals to the neediest children in the Greater Houston area.

Club South presents Pop Trunk will be released on Bandcamp and all other platforms on June 27.

tripes is a student of various genres, but draws particular inspiration from new wave of DIY young dancehall artists in Mauritius. He pushes “Limerence” away from its dancehall skeleton and gives it a much heavier beat that layers in his signature deep and wavy sound. Watch out for his forthcoming EP on Paradoxe Club soon.

Dave Quam takes “Full Break” and breaks it down into a lush Frusciante-esque primordial soup. I would recommend listening while in a bathtub with all the lights off on mushrooms. Up next on Reloaded Sounds, we have Nottinghams very own Panar with a release entitled ‘Kamikaze’. Panar is usually known for producing UKG bangers but this track brings some serious breaks/rave heat that is certainly made for the end of the night. The intro sucks you in with some unbelievable euphoric synths and breaks style drums to then drop into a huge sounding bass thats going to rip any sound system to shreds. The track is a nod to the quality of music that Nottingham is producing at the minute, and Panar is up there currently. We hope you enjoy this one, its an absolute banger
