It started with Chicago. Then, Manchester.

For nearly three decades, Laurent Garnier has urged himself to create on the cutting edge of dance music. Beyond the turntables and studio, Garnier moves between genres and performance techniques with the aim of continuously challenging himself. Pick any moment from his musical journey, and it's easy to see this creative momentum: there was the Hacienda in the late '80s, his time spent in America exploring house, the techno of his label F Communications and his entry into the realm of jazz. "I never want to be an old artist playing my old tracks just to please the older crowd," he says. "I don't think that's healthy." (RA)

Laurent Garnier is now an undeniable force that is making the planet dance.
Last summer (2013) Laurent Garnier met with Jerome Derradji over dinner before his long awaited return at the decks in Chicago for SmartBar. Longtime friends, Laurent and Jerome talked about the possibility of releasing some of his new productions under the name Garnier. A new venture for the veteran Dj and producer, that will see him release a series of 12”s for labels such as 50 Weapons and more....

“AF 0490” is the first release in the series and showcases Garnier at his best.
Three tracks that pay their respect to the heroes of Trax, Dancemania and to the Chicago sound they helped create without any misplaced nostalgia.
“Bang (The Underground Doesn’t Stop)” is a dancefloor anthem, magnificent and pure Chicago circa 1998. “Boom (Chakolak)” takes you way back to the Southside with its gritty “footwork” 909 kicks, snares and vocal loops, massive! “Beat (Da BoxX) is a pure Garnier, Dancemania inspired techno monster. The loop is finally complete, Garnier can now hop on flight AF 0490 direct from Paris to Chicago to Bang The Box once more.

Tell your friends, 2014 looks like it’s going to be the year of the Garnier.

Previously one half of Footprintz, Clarian has released on on Visionquest, Turbo, Life and Death and Culprit as a solo artist, not to mention his acclaimed collaborations with Guy Gerber and Seth Troxler.

Combining the warm hum and factory grit of analog machinery, sequencers, and haunted strings, his tracks transport the listener into alternate states of mind. Laced in homemade beats and toxic hooks, Clarian is on the fringe between experimental house and pseudo pop, re-imagining tones into an addictive cocktail with his signature dance floor poetry.

Today we premiere Clarian's latest offering on Anjunadeep entitled ‘Kill For Love.’ The track kicks off the three-track EP with tantalising keys and mournful vocals, wrapped around a surging acid bassline.

Canadian producer Clarian delivers three melodic house cuts on the ‘Kill For Love EP’, his Anjunadeep debut.

Previously one half of Footprintz, Clarian has released on on Visionquest, Turbo, Life and Death and Culprit as a solo artist, not to mention his acclaimed collaborations with Guy Gerber and Seth Troxler. When not A&Ring Troxler’s Soft Touch imprint, a discography he’s inaugurated with this ‘If There Light At The End’ release, Clarian is a prominent figure in Berlin’s nightlife scene when he’s not trotting the globe between Paris, Dubai, Montreal, New York and London.

First up ‘Kill For Love’ kicks off the package with tantalising keys and mournful vocals, wrapped around a surging acid bassline. ‘Lucid Dreamers’ employs yet more acid licks and ebbing chords, whilst a spoken word sample floats softly above elegant rising melodies. ‘I Was Born In Outer Space’ concludes the EP with a trippy journey through otherworldly pads and undulating basslines as a heady vox sings blissfully throughout.

The Flaschenpost project takes the listener on a journey with high waves and great depths. Disko Dario is one of the outstanding producers of the Bernese scene. He has shown his qualities with several releases on labels like Parquet Recordings, Sinsonic Records and Elastic Trax. A longstanding friendship and collaboration in two compilations precedes his now first EP with Sirion Records.
Disko Dario plays live sets exclusively and is quite selective in picking his stage. His tracks are exceptional and unmistakably stick out of the mass. A Disko Dario live set is known for organic and deep grooves. The combination with the melancholic melodies gives his music the depth, which touches and gets under your skin.
The songs of Flaschenpost (message in a bottle) demonstrate once again his unconditional love for lively synth sounds. The eponymous track "Flaschenpost" convinces with its constant line from beginning to end and predestined for the dancefloor. An interpretation thereof comes from Soukie & Windish from URSL family, well known for her Bachstelzen appearances. The second track “Nebelmeer” (sea of fog) completes this EP with a remix of dedicated Bernese DJ & producer Nicola Koch.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

Even if it’s just the second time, it feels like a tradition of ours to release a remix collection of our „Lost“ compilation. Last year in October we had our 6 year club anniversary and for this reason our residents and label artists DJ Aroma, Iorie, Kuriose Naturale, Madmotormiquel, Mario Aureo & Manuel Moreno and Patryk Molinari delivered six outstanding original tracks. Now, half a year later, it’s time for some fresh interpretations. We’ve asked our friends Soukie & Windish, Sebo, Gunjah & Niconé, Spieltape and Tim Engelhardt for this task and even our label head Mario Aureo couldn’t resist the chance to put his hands on a track. We think that all these names already speak for themselves so now it’s your turn to give these amazing works a listen. We are proud to start the new year with such an eclectic release but we also promise that this won’t be the end of the story in 2016!

Elias Doré is currently based in Geneva but grew up in Berlin and has acquired his musical taste from along his travels around the globe. He can play the saxophone and piano and you can tell that his musical background has brought his unique style of bringing the listener on a hypnotic journey of smooth deep dark yet melodic grooves. 

His music selection and energy to discover the latest musical productions from a huge variety of artists is incredible. The hard work truly shows in his mix tapes. 

This wonderful set he has done for Sunset Grooves has oriental, south american, berlin, mountain, seaside, (ok might be going a little far) elements in this mix.
