As a kid my favorite comic book hero was Batman, I always found the 1960's TV show too campy even as a kid I thought it was awful. But, in 1989 Tim Burton brought us a completely different type of Batman with Michael Keaton as the caped crusader and the awesome soundtrack was composed by Danny Elfman.

Fast forward to 2005, director Christopher Nolan recruited actor Christian Bale to do a trilogy as the caped crusader. When I took my son who was only 3 at the time to see it, I had no clue that Danny Elfman wasn't composing it and immediately Hans Zimmer's approach was a lot darker and while for some it wasn't memorable. I loved it, as we sat there watching it I had already heard the song in my head in a heavy metal version. Here is the main theme Molossus.

After the last few posts I have shared of classical guitar pieces, Agony probably isn't the appropriate song that I should upload that has progressive metal elements to it. But, midway into the song there is a break down that has a choir in it so in theory there is some classical elements thrown into the mix.

The mindset I had when composing this twisted song was my reaction to horror movies and how savage they can be. The ride cymbal was used excessively and violently in making this song so I do apologize for that but it felt necessary at the time.
