Beautifully assembled, love the minimalism, this might be the smallest cast of characteres I've ever seen on an EC track haha. Really brings your and JJ's vocals alive, and wow I dig the organ that kicks in during that final third of the song. Very cool stuff guys

A simple, catchy song, musically inconsequential, but with some self-pitying and self-indulgent intent. It seems unbelievable, but I had "Bright Eyes", Art Garfunkel's 1977 hit, in mind. Obviously, I have to mention the song by my admired John Watts, for his legendary group Fischer-Z, "Lies", from his album Word Salad, because of its coincidental chorus. It's something that was also on my mind.

This is a stripped down version of a song written by J.J. that the Eclectic Collective gang made a few months ago. A few differences include no drum or bass, no sax solo, no slide guitar intro, an alternate guitar take, and alternate vocal performance by J.J. A sign of a great song is how it still sounds great even with just a simple instrument arrangement, and JJ's original song is a good example!

Beyond the stars, my heart lies complete is the final and headline track from the 5 piece mini album titled 'Songs For Freya'. Composed for my daughter in 2015, the track was originally released in 2017, with various versions appearing on Soundcloud. This most recent version is the start of a renaissance of works, seeing the re-release of a number of pieces shelved over the years. Inspired by the works of Ludovico Einaudi, Beyond the stars, my heart lies complete is a thoughtful, contemplative piece which shares the love and adoration I have for my daughter during her younger years, always singing and playing.
