Reset Robot returns with another exquisite Truesoul offering, led by the timeless vocal composition ‘I Wish You’d Never’.

Digging deeper into his sonic repertoire during lockdown, the producer (aka Dave Roberston) crafts a thoughtful EP brimming with shimmering ambient tones and textures.

‘I Wish You’d Never’ reinforces his superior production skills, led by the mammoth title track. A strong lead vocal rubs shoulders with lustrous synth swirls, lilting pads and crisp percussion, before a brooding bassline comes into focus and hits with a deliciously menacing punch. ‘Time Loop’ is a piercing acid trance cut that begs to be rinsed. ‘Fluid’ originally begun as ambient electronica work, but evolved into a tougher composition through the course of the studio session: “out of curiosity I added some drums and a more aggressive bass synth and it came together,” Robertson says of the grandiose, pad-laden work. A classy dub of ‘I Wish You’d Never’ rounds out the package.

A double A-Side from two of the collective’s most reliable artists gets us warmed up for a summer to remember. 

With dancefloors within eyeshot, Bart Skils steps up with another divine cut on Truesoul, guaranteed to elicit goosebumps upon impact. ‘East of the Sun’ has Bart’s trademark silky groove, but leaves its mark via a celestial break made for misty-eyed morning moments. Mark Reeve’s first contribution to Truesoul since 2017 is an ace; a tender cut to ease us back into the rave, a shimmering lead builds patient energy throughout the first half of the track before fading into a brief but exhilarating silence. When the beat kicks back in we can already picture the collective headrush the dancefloor will experience.

We are stoked to welcome back Another Mind on our Mirror Records imprint with their new 4 track EP "Miracles". The EP kicks off with "Miracle", the title track of this EP features a beautiful build up into stirring melodies and ethereal harmonies. Next up is Nihil Youngs take on "Miracle". He crafted his very own version of the track, preserving only essential parts of the original and supporting it with a driving and uplifting touch. On the flip side of the EP we have "Wonder", a track which stands out through its intoxicating melody and interesting percussive patterns. The Ep finally finishes off with John Rayets Remix of "Wonder" where he beautifully embedded the original within a driving acid melody, creating a true dancefloor banger.

After his contribution to Kuukou’s Passengers vol.4 George Adi returns to Kuukou for his
Gravity EP comprising two original tracks, with Jannowitz Records own BOHO and Rachel
Raw in charge of the remix.
Gravity is an inviting track that stays true to its name: floating pads and a subtle, restrained
lead cross path with a levitating bassline, giving rise to an electrifying peak and resolve.
BOHO and Rachel Raw take on Gravity’s spaciousness, amping its unobtrusive yet entrancing
lead. Grave pads and ominous synths complete the soundscape, giving off a more nervous
alternative. Second track Desert is a less nervous, more straightforward techno track with
heavy-hitting drums and a lingering lead that feels both fresh and familiar.

Daring techno figure Drumcomplex has been keeping busy, despite the current universal
club hiatus. Cooped up in the studio, where no one but his close collaborators could enter,
he has concocted his 3th album, consisting of eleven original tracks. It’s a release that
shows off his well-rounded, calculated style, bearing the typical Drumcomplex imprint,
while incorporating more recent influences.
Long time friend and melodic techno aficionado Frank Sonic makes two appearances, first
one on the intro track, a more melancholic starter to an otherwise upbeat slew of tracks.
Later on, as we’re taken through intricate yet straightforward cuts like 'Universe' and 'The
Heat', he makes his mark on Deeply Anchored, an ethereal vocal-centered dreamy padheavy journey. We also encounter a collaboration with Ben Champell, a more heavyhitting, ready for the floor cut. At over seven minutes, title track 'The Story Of Now' is the
LP's epic centrepiece, with subtle hints of breaks and an array of contagious percussion
and metallic synths. While all tracks can be defined as techno, the producer’s sound
design chops are evident, considering the variety of soundscapes we’re taken through
track by track. A great example is 'Running Funky', who, albeit using an eponymous vocal
loop, demonstrates Drumcomplex’ ability to also get very, very groovy. The LP is rounded
off however in true Complexed style with club-primed weapons such as 'Cook' or
'Surrender' with Uncertain from Vienna, that spell late night havoc. All in all, an enjoyable
release both for at-home listening as well as in-club use, reaching far and wide into the
realm of techno with rowdy rave capabilities and intricate melodies.

PREMIERE: BB Deng - Into The Berlin Night [Be Sure]

A pair of techno stalwarts unite for their debut collaboration.

An auspicious release for label and artists alike, Pig&Dan and Gregor Tresher have both been delivering quality techno productions for almost two decades. Tresher is a prolific and deeply respected member of the German techno scene responsible for iconic tracks such as a 'A Thousand Nights' and 'Goliath'. His debut on Truesoul was certainly fated. Pig&Dan need no introduction, as one of the label's most consistent and valued contributors, coming off a lush two-tracker 'Telegraphy' released in January.

The artists' connection goes back almost as far as their discographies. Birthed during lockdown, 'Challenger' is their inaugural production link up. The title track is a progressive-tinged bubbler that builds to a celestial crescendo. 'Granular' is an immersive trip, as a drone-like wall of sound meshes with glistening synths, conjuring up an evocative atmosphere akin to a futuristic film soundtrack.
