Solid Grooves co-founder PAWSA returns with a huge summer anthem in 'Room Service'. 

With each year that passes, PAWSA continues to level up while staying true to his path as an artist, not dictated by trends or hype but solely by his ever-evolving creative vision. The past twelve months, however, have potentially yielded the most fruitful moments of his career, with the DJ, producer and label boss gaining his well-deserved plaudits as a leading name within the scene while featuring as one of DJ Mag's illustrious cover stars. With summer in full swing, the Solid Grooves co-founder now drops a cut making serious noise amongst his sets of late with the playful yet powerful 'Room Service'.  

A nod to 2022's DC10 residency concept of the Solid Grooves Motel, 'Room Service (24 Hour Mix)' is a showcase of the Londoner at his best as he fuses signature basslines and slick drums alongside striking top lines and resonant funk-fuelled synths to offer up yet more inventive, floor-focused ammunition.

During the pandemic I created a four part mix series for Triple J that was focused around my inspirations as a DJ and record producer. It sent me down quite the nostalgic path of re-discovery. I believe the pandemic became quite a reflective time for everybody at home. Not just they were pining for a life before COVID 19, but it gave them a chance to look back and discover what they liked about life in general. Whether that be art, music, or even relationships. 

After listening to all of this music, I decided I wanted to try my hand and write a timeless rave record that not only made listeners nostalgic for the past, but excited about the celebrations we all have to come. “Miracle Maker” is the result".

Solid Grooves Raw welcome rising Brazilian Beltran for his label debut with 'Smack Yo'.

As the end of the summer season draws near, it's safe to say Solid Grooves aren't slowing down as the UK favourites continue to reveal the ID's for a long list of heavily requested unreleased material tested by co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA across their Grooves Motel Ibiza season at DC10 and beyond. Tapping into South America's hotbed of emerging talent, the label's sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw heads to Brazil for another label debut as they welcome Beltran for 'Smack Yo'.

A firm favourite of Michael Bibi's and a stand-out track from his sets across 2022, 'Smack Yo' is a murky and twisting peak-time cut armed with punchy drums, warped vocal samples and weighty low-ends - with Solid Grooves Raw offering a perfect home for the Brazilian's first label outing.

Tim Deluxe - It Just Won't Do

I put the bones of this tune together in a hotel room while road tripping between gigs in Arizona earlier this year, feeling super inspired by the west coast clubs I’d been playing at. The vocals were written and recorded while sick in bed, using my tour manager's iPhone earbud microphone and a doona cover as my vocal booth. At the time I had planned on replacing the demo with a cleaner take when I got home to Australia, but I was never able to recreate something as gritty and weird... so it stayed! It's been slaying it for me ever since, I hope it slays for you guys too ❤️🙌🏼

I’ve been testing this track out on the road for the better part of 12 months, tweaking the moments until I felt it had just the right amount of dance floor appeal. It’s been so exciting to watch people connect with it right in front of me. I wrote the hook after wrapping up a club show at Audio in San Francisco back in June 2018. The crowd was really gravitating towards sustained, rolling grooves that night, so when I got back to the hotel I really felt the need to make one that was just for them. The speech in the breakdown is a sample of a local San Franciscan dance legend who I’ve respected for a long time, and I felt it was just too perfect to let the track out into the world without it.

The Blessed Madonna and I had a chat on zoom a few months back now and she was talking in the infinite and naturally poetic way that she does about, well really how everrrrrryone is feeling! And because we were writing it was being recorded! So I sampled it! And tuned her to be singing at times and I just reeallllyyy love it. And also an enormous big ups to the great Boston Bun who we produced it with.
