SCENE 1       Ready for the Party        / MUSIC: “In The Mirror” 
Zazil, a beautiful, somewhat mysterious young woman dances in her room. 

SCENE 2      Danced To Death                       / MUSIC: “Vera’s Dance” 
A day of the dead celebration. Choreography Mojigangas, classic catrinas,  salon. A handsome man dances Zazil to death.

SCENE 3      The Underworld             / MUSIC: “The Underworld”  
Aereal silk in the middle of the floor. Zizil descends down the silk to the underworld.  Shadow dance. Fire dance.

SCENE 4       Apanohuaia                 /  MUSIC: “Mexmagic” 
In the blackness, a small stream grows little by little, opening a portal where more and more water enters, which Zazil must fight against. She is saved by Xolotl, her dog.

SCENE 5       Tepeme Monamictlan       / MUSIC:  “The Deep Mountains” 
The place where the mountains meet, grinding back and forth. Crossing is dangerous, yet Zazil must cross.

SCENE 6        Itztépetl - The Obsidian Mountain        / MUSIC:  “Mine”  
Zazil and Xolotl (her dog) walk windy mountains.  The obsidian god appears and kills Xolotl.  Zazil remains thrown over Xolo desperate, crying. 

SCENE 7      Cehueloyan                       / MUSIC: "Eye" and “Hazelwood Moon”   
A snowy place.  Zazil is now alone. Everything is ice, frozen. Death within death. 
An owl flies down to comfort Zazil.

SCENE 8       Teyollocualóyan               / MUSIC: “Reaching Out”  
Zazil pulls her heart out of her chest. She gives it to Jaguar who devours it with great devotion while the animals dance

SCENE 9       Cycle of life                     /  MUSIC: “A Star For The Hero” 
The heart lies on the ground.  From the heart, a flower is born.

SCENE 10      Rebirth                             / MUSIC: " Sunrise On Mars" and “Plutonium”
Zazil reappears as a young girl, reborn, climbing up the silk upwards to the living.

 SCENE 11       Day of the Dead             / MUSIC: “The Beautiful Candle” 
Zazil arrives in the modern world on the Day of the Dead, transformed and beautiful.  The End.

Hey Joel,

I've obviously been a huge fan of your music ever since I heard it, so here's my personal unique taste of progressive/electro house! I grew up playing classical piano so my influences are quite classical and film music based aswell! trying to find a nice balance in between, with interesting chords and movement whilst still being easy to follow!

Clearly you can also hear my sound design and 'dubsteppy' and 'riddim' like influences with the metallic resonance and characteristics I try to add my basses, which are almost entirely sound designed by myself. All samples and drum loops when used are from splice!  

I used your chord loop method where the ending transitions to the beginning of the next 8 bar smoothly and nicely, and the rest of the song is built around those chords and adding more and making it interesting each repeat. I want to say that I broke the "typical" edm structure by adding another sneaky drop right after the main drop. I know people do it all the time, but just to reiterate I've been watching your lessons 😂 

I'd also like to agree with you that I don't start a song with a story or a feeling, to me its just chords and whatever comes from the chords and instrumentation is the result. futhermore, I don't have a story either, and I hope that each song tells a unique story to my audience that they resonate with themselves subjectively? that being said I want my songs to have my own personal sound with the chords I like to use and techniques, and audiences can hear its me straight away, if they follow me of course.

I had a dilemma of trying to make the song full of surprises with interesting soundscapes and ideas, without it being too full on and messy, I'd love to made this track again with a full length like 7-9 minutes so it can really shine! but nonetheless I think the 4 minute limit was good so I could get straight to the point. 

rambling on now, just like everyone else here who is touched by your music, this is a dream and I don't want anything else but to be noticed by someone like you. hope you enjoyed it and Im worth a consideration for your compilation!

Scene 1 -  Zazil, a beautiful, somewhat mysterious young woman dances in her room while she fixes herself in the mirror and gets dressed. A photo of her shows her deceased grandmother, and a photo of her favorite Xolo. Images of old photos, old videos, etc.

Scene 2 - A day of the dead celebration. Choreography Mojigangas, classic catrinas,  salon. Young ladies dance and interact. Zazil comes in, checking out the scene and having fun with her friends. Hermes shows up at the party, Sees Zazil and walks over. They look at each other and commence to dance. They spin in circles with more and more emotion. So much that her spirit begins to leave her body until she lies dead on the floor. A light surrounds her. A sudden death, as if the underworld were calling her. Grandma calls her. Images of her life, of her world, of the world, Beings that leave. Indigenous dancers on the screen. Hermes holds her. The others dance around her in a panic.

Scene 4 - Black. A small stream grows little by little, opening a portal where more and more water enters, which Zizil must fight against.  Water dance as he tries to swim up the river. 

Xolotl, the dog-headed god, appears and dances around her. He helps her onto a canoe where they find safety.  Xolotl dances around her. He carries her to shore. He thanks her for her love of dogs. o “ Thank you for caring and loving dogs in life. Now I will be your guide on this path.”

Scene 5 - "Tepeme Monamictlan" place where the mountains meet.  
Walking proud of her conquest and satisfied with her new partner, Zazil comes across some great mountains that close and open. They realize that a lot of agility and exact timing to pass when the mountains open. 

Tepeyollotl, the Jaguar god watches her from the mountain. After a few tries, they just pass.

Scene 11 -Zazil arrives again on the Day of the Dead transformed and beautiful, like a newborn.  Pictures of her as a young woman decorate an altar. On the altar she finds her grandmother's necklace and puts it on. She lights a candle and puts it on her altar. 

Everyone on stage and all dance around.

Inspired by the desolate desert photography of Attasalina, “Plutonium” depicts a scorched planet’s long past and black future. Star Goes Nova, known for blending multi-genre music with visual and performing arts, takes us to a sizzling sun in a universe of grime bass and trap drums.  Infinity is envisioned as dragons and electrons, whose chaos is a prediction for our own home world.
