Aggression On The Rise

Stefanie was one of the first people that I have felt safe to be myself around. I still remember the first time we really talked, she was the first person on the cross country team to give me a chance, and from that moment on she was the big me and I was the small her. There are so many still moments that I remember with her....
it was a day I wish I could bottle up and drink when I miss her. The sky was so blue and we were on the way to practice. Listening to Lorde and looking out the window as my hand soared in the breeze, everything was still and good. I felt so happy and safe and her energy next to mine balanced my world. Her smile was infectious, her energy contagious, her attitude so chaotic and peaceful at the same time. I still remember the last time I saw her and said goodbye to her, and I am so grateful for that moment. She forgot her cat card upstairs and I brought it down to her and we held each other in our final embrace. She was more than a friend to me, she was a sister and always will be. 
when she died I shattered into a million pieces. everything hurt so badly until it didn't and the world went gray. I thought I would never come out of that grief. Its been five years and December seventh and the days following are still hard. I think about her all the time, but these days bring forward my feelings about her death. I ask her to be my dj on Spotify because music was our true connection. 
This song, like most, is inspired and driven why Stefanie Martin, the bright yellow spirit that follows me around and laughs when I fall out of bed and helps me remember to not take myself too seriously. I love her, I love her, I love her.
