For the 19th installment of Signals we welcome Berlin based Electro head,  Lazercat.

Lazercat is a DJ, producer and crazy cat lady. Growing up in Western Canada, she made her own way towards electronic music production while training as a classical violinist. She then began DJing many years later, inspired to take to the turntables after countless hours spent on Berlins infamous dancefloors.

With a penchant for all things overlooked and under-the-radar, Lazercat's sound draws from a variety of sonic and emotional landscapes; from acidic, extraterrestrial electro to neon-drenched 80s synth-funk - and everything in between.  

Lazercat has also been actively co-running the Dreams of Neon party and livestream series in recent years, with regular DJ sets broadcast on the iconic Intergalactic FM.

This mix sees an all vinyl assault of Electro firepower. Heavy hitters throughout.

Dalmata Daniel presents the sixth instalment of their DDS split series, manifesting a relentless torrent of raw, bumping beats and electric thunderbolts: Kraków-based Olivia brings her otherworldly sequences and hazy reverberations, while hailing from Tel Aviv, Rapha delivers acidic treatments and sinister, menacing tones of a dark, untold future.

Side A opens up with ’Freak’, where Olivia’s swirling synth arpeggios quickly aim to enchant all listeners, tangling up their brainwaves with several layers of wicked, throbbing beats. Continuing her witching hour, ‘Odejdź’ introduces off-kilter pulses, cries and whispers in a dungeon, where no one can find the exit. Echoes tremble and screams get distorted in the dark, moist and uncanny aisles of these non-Euclidean spaces. Hyperbolic and demonic, hypnotic and manic: ‘Odejdź’ puts ashes in our eyes and takes us to places we never thought were possible in this bleak realm of our world.

Flip the record, drop the needle and let side B commence: Rapha opens up with ‘Aggressive Disorder’, a hip hop-infused marching beat with cosmic howls and blasting basslines. Next up, as a gargantuan machinery of steam-fueled engines, ‘Bomber Jacket’ takes a confident, industrial maneuver at demonstrating nasty, scattered pieces of percussive grit, simmering its way to a textured and refined amalgam of rough and frantic pulsations. Closing the split release, ‘Access Point’ elevates the voyage to outer space: fresh and squelchy electro patterns kick in right away with sweet, rumbling lower frequencies, and while you may enjoy the interstellar ride with stardust in your eyes, don’t forget to watch out for potential alien screams and growls behind you in the cabin; they should come as no surprise if DDS06 is the OST to your personal, gruesome, galactic adventure.

We are truly excited to welcome Olivia to the GF series. After seeing her perform at the Red Light Radio stage in 2019, we instantly knew big things were coming from the Krakow-born DJ and producer. A leading member of her home city’s We Are Radar party collective, she combines all aspects of the electronic sphere to carve out her own style. She has performed at leading clubs and festivals as Berghain, De School, Tresor, Golden Pudel, Dekmantel and Nachtdigital, Digital Tsunami, Boiler Room, and others. In addition to having extensive experience in booking and event management, she has brought out music on top-shelf labels such as Pinkman, both as herself as well as her collaborative alias Radiation 30376, a split EP on Dalmata Daniel, and more. This week on the GF series is the talented DJ and musician Gael. The Berlin-based artist is known for her distinctive blend of techno and experimental electronics, delivered with energy and style. As a producer, she's featured on labels such as Standard Deviation, System, Topot, Meta Moto, Minor Adjustments, Kashev Tapes, and most recently a shared track with Egzotikka on the newly launched Comme des Larmes VA. She combines this stellar body of work with scores, installations, and live performances under her alias shemovesshe. Her touring schedule is pleasantly packed with appearances at Berghain, Oxi Club, Institut Fuer Zukunft, Mala Junta, and native ∄ where she is also holding a residency at a queer party ХІТЬ. Lock in for an hour of raw, atom-splitting electronics.

Galactic Funk Podcast 103 - Gael

Bash man is a Glasgow-based DJ and producer. Widely regarded as a master of the turntables, he has a record collection spanning various genres, mainly focusing on the harder essence of House and Techno. 

Bash is a Resident of both RUSH in Glasgow at the Berkely suite alongside Mi$$ Co$mix and the weekly Resist parties at the Mash House in Edinburgh. A truly committed selector who shows no signs of slowing down. 

Bash man has a 12" forthcoming on Leftfield House and Techno Imprint Non Stop Rhythm. The release will see a compilation of tracks from his previous 2 EPs on the same label, finally getting the chance to be pressed onto wax. 

Enjoy this hour of killer selections by the man they call Bash. We absolutely love it.

Signals 032 arrives courtesy of Dundee newcomer, Kensho. 

Making his club debut at our last Public House party, kensho proved what he's about and then some. He more-than-impressed us with his calm and collected approach, matched with razor sharp mixing. 

This hour is a good insight to what Kensho is about as a DJ. Breaks, Acid and Electro throughout. Keep an eye on him.

For signals 033 we welcome Rotterdam-based DJ and Producer, Marienus. 

After a handful of years of DJing on both the airwaves as host of his own Operator show, No Soap Radio, and in clubs for organisations such as Pinkman, he has proven his worth within Rotterdams vibrant club scene.

Now dabbling with production, he recently released his debut track, a collaborative effort with xceptor as part of a compilation on his own crews imprint, Public Sex Regime. 

In his sets he showcases gritty, grimy electronics, blending styles sucu as industrial, ebm, wave, electro and techno with influences of hip-hop and weirdo experimental. By breaking the boundaries between the aforementioned genres the young artist has cemented a recognisable and distinctive sound.

Signals 034 is here. We're very much excited to welcome killer DJ and label-head, Naks. 

Naks is co-founder of the Vortex Traks imprint, a well-regarded Electro label which has played host to artists such as KafkaCtrl, Datawave, Mono Junk, Lazercat and more. Hs also runs the Dreams of Neon party series from the Berlin Underground. Dreams of Neon also streams on the legendary Intergalactic FM. 

After close to two decades of spinning and collecting, Naks has been spotted playing in both Berlin clubs and across Europe. Whether it's Electro, Acid, freaked-out distorted screeches or Italo Disco, Naks is your guy.
