Two years ago, May 2018 to be more precise, we were blown away by a new record that arrived in the Pinkman store. It was the first release from M.U.S.A, a new Barcelona based imprint. Their debut release was by a local artist called RNXRX, who delivered to 4 razor sharp hard-hitting electro cuts. We've been playing these tracks out on every possible dance floor since then and they still never let us down. Last year at our Pinkman label night at LAUT Barcelona, we finally met Hernan. We found out he's also a very talented graphic designer, so we worked with him for a few label night posters. Anyway, during that night a long distance friendship was born because of mutual interests (what's new?), so we're very excited to have him for this weeks Pinkman broadcast at Operator.

The second installment of our series arrives courtesy of Barcelona based DJ and Producer, Nehuen.

Born in Argentina, Nehuen moved to Spain as a teenager to gain easier access to record stores and equipment such as synthesisers and drum machines. His Balaeric approach to both DJ'ing and production sees him blur the lines between style, taste and tempo. These 50 minutes reflect that perfectly.

Nehuen has a mixed bag of self released material, along with releases on labels such as Cosmos and I Love Acid. His latest EP, a Split release with scene staple Cardopusher on Lone Romantic, has become a Public House Favourite of late. 

Nehuen hosts a monthly show, Tanzen, on Radio Primevara Sound in which he explores new sounds and ideas that are well received by many.

"777% live track from forthcoming Travelogue EP [out on 05/11/20]
Instruments: Roland AlphaJuno-2, Korg Wavestation SR, Kawai K11, Roland TR-606 and Elektron Digitakt.
Digitakt was used as sampler (of course), midi source to run all the synths above though Kawai MAV8 and clock generator for TR-606. 
For reverb and delay effect I was using Alesis Midiverb 2 and ART Multiverb Alpha.
No backlines were used, whole track was recorded straight from Mackie VLZ-1604Pro.

TL Premiere : Dmitry Distant - Nature's Interface [Heretic Electro]

Third number in the DDS split series after a pair of releases courtesy of Betonkust/Új Bála and DJ Overdose/Sematic4, ‘DDS03’ sees Budapest duo SILF (alias Farbwechsel chief-operators Alpár & S Olbricht) and Den Haag-based pair Intergalactic Gary and Pasiphae join forces on a quartet of elusive, unpigeonholeable power moves.

Four years after the drop of their debut joint EP on Biorhythm, ‘Made of Glass’, I-G and Pasiphae are back at it with two left-of-centre hybrids of futuristic techno on a whirring electro-industrial tip. An off-kilter jam percolating fine hints of spiritual elation and post-apocalyptic anxiety, ‘Microwaves’ gets the ball rolling on a dichotomous note. To slo-scudding flocks of loud, bouncy kicks supersede skeins of brittle chimes and rattling drums, all woven together by subtle tectonic shifts of moody pads.

PREMIERE: Intergalactic Gary & Pasiphae - Indistinct Chatter (Dalmata Daniel)

Since moving in she'd felt unsettled in this big old house, as if it wasn't really her own. As if it belonged to somebody else. She tried not to clutter her mind with troubled thoughts or let the creaking floorboards and cold draught bother her, but it was becoming increasingly difficult. There was an unwelcome energy here, an unwanted presence that needed to be exorcised.

Chilean artist Tomás Ruiz is gearing up for the release of his first long player under the name Russell on local label Halcxn. No Estamos Solos, which marks the label's sixth release this year, follows an active period of productions from the Ruiz camp, but with the name change comes a more direct approach, and a focus on a solid and clear sound. Prioritising freedom above anything when it comes to production, Ruiz's outings as Russell will be be navigated by influences in electro, downtempo and breakbeat, which come through on the album in the broken sounds, deep rhythms and atmospheric textures.
