Besides dancing and acting as a child Marzj discovered the drums. She couldn't stop playing and ended up graduating from the Rockacademie, in Tilburg in the Netherlands in 2003. Playing in several bands like The May Bees, League of XO Gentlemen, E-Quad, Duffhues and Betonfraktion + touring with these guys made her the experienced and professional musician she is today.
 
Next to the bands mentioned earlier, she played in other bands as a stand-in drummer, for example in the Belgian band K's Choice or played for a short time, more experimental, projects like Szense.
 
She became a teacher at the Herman Brood Academie, at several schools of music as well as at the Rockacademie and she gave private lessons. After awhile she decided to quit  teaching and dedicated her life for the full 100% to playing and writing music.
 
Her interest for theatre, and specially the slapstick kind of thing, never really went away. For a long time she considered herself 'just a drummer'. But after quitting teaching, she started drumming in theme park 'de Efteling' and realized there is more she can do besides drumming. She met new people with interests in combining music and theatre and they started the bands The Hutspot and Trio Ristretto.

Marzj started singing, playing guitar and programming beats and other MIDI instruments. She also started composing her own music and created projects with fellow writers, such as Little Realm, Elfs With Attitude and Dream Room Revolution.
 
Another interest for Marzj is studio recording. She recorded and mixed several albums of her own bands ; Trio Ristretto, The Hutspot, Elfs With Attitude and Dream Room Revolution
 
She writes music for short film, audio books and instruction film, like Alice in Cartoonland, The Concert Game and the audio book 'de Vliegende Hollander'.
 
So in a nutshell, Marzj is an performer, studio technician and composer.
