I made this in the midst of my current hiatus when I was feeling mad depressed. Literally sleeping on the floor intentionally because that is my place of grounding and peace, yet still mentally working towards getting back up. Talking to the right people with the right words got me to move, create, listen, and share this jammy jam whenever I feel close to being low….Everyone is different though, yet still special.

So, Feeling stuck? Feeling hopeless? Holding the weight on your shoulders? This is your reminder to keep moving. Keep stretching, keep breathing, keep believing, keep existing, and know that everything may seem bad right now, yet everything WILL be good and great. Be patient, be calm.

I was playing 3 v 3 basketball inside with friends at the rec center. I stretched before I got on the court, yet in the midst of playing I felt something pull in my calf area at first and continued to play it through. Cuz you know, pops ain’t raise no quitter. Yet, I didn’t set my pride aside to say I was hurt, I didn’t stretch like how I’m suppose to as a fellow athlete, and instead rushed everything, continued playing the game, then went out dancing instead of healing. I rested on the thought of the pain, yet I wasn’t prepared to wake up and have both my Achilles in such an ache that I fell onto the floor because of how off balance I was with pain. 

I made this song as I was soaking, elevating, and etc. in order to not think about the pain and not take it out on myself or others because of my own mistakes. Instead I focused on the work needed to heal from it and know to stretch all the way through before, during, and after any physical activity. Ask for help if/when needed, yet only if necessary. All the things I know, yet still…. That pride.

I just wanted to feel better and be cared for while I was healing on my own. Sometimes having someone there for support can make a huge difference on how they heal through their trauma. Yet, remember to trauma care and not trauma bond.

2 Achilles Tears

I’ve battled with suicidal thoughts my entire life due to various traumatic instances. I always felt misplaced, yet I never wanted to hurt anyone, I just wanted unconditional love. It’s not that I hated myself, I just didn’t know how to process observations and thoughts with words, so I used music instead. Years later, I met my brother from another cover, NLS Ron (Local 412 Artist) who reminded me to never lose sight of what’s important to me. Sometimes it’s easier said than done, yet it all just depends on the individual. I really do hope you find peace and love in your own existence and surrounding as well. Thank you for listening and reading, please know that you’re literally not alone in the battle.
