roof leaks

come apart in your light

I see people like stars 

beautiful beyond sense in hazardry and light  

and very far away


and I understand most have a little, at least
	


agoraphobic, lonely, nervous, bipolar, depressed, anxious, doubtful



whatever it is

however it looks 

		seems these take up residence like a tennant 

and leave as suddenly as they came

	and when alone

it’s doubtful whether they departed for 

or were just on

		a vacation 


 

 and I am every bit just the same 

     
       
        frequent to look up in cold and night

                     to find my place in all of this


and I tend to talk a lot more than I listen 

which is remarkable considering how little I talk sometimes 


and there’s a sickly pleasure in closing the blinds
		
and leaving them so
				
a joy anemic

in keeping your loneliness from mine


and I have little to offer in the way of understanding 

and even less in advice 

and i’m nervous to ask for things

          whether for a date or for a job            
            
                                                                 but 

                                      I took some time 

and spent out of whatever I have left of it

to write and ask you

to open your blinds 


and I’ll do my best

my very best

to listen,

open mine,
