Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is just one of the many acts gearing up to celebrate Suwannee Hulaween’s 10th anniversary, the festival is returning home to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida from Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Hulaween is one of the last truly-independent, large-scale music festivals thriving amongst today’s corporatized concert landscape, and after selling out its last five editions, the festival is commemorating a decade of success with its most impressive lineup yet.

Following a five-year hiatus, electro-soul pioneer Pretty Lights will headline Hulaween as his only East Coast festival performance on his Soundship Spacesystem Tour. It's been nearly two decades since Pretty Lights started originating his signature, sample-heavy sounds that redefined America’s electronic music scene, and his exclusive East Coast festival set at Hulaween promises to showcase vibrant, bass-fueled sounds to the festival’s feverish audience.

Known globally for his playful demeanor and rip-roaring sets, tech-house maestro John Summit marks another Hulaween headliner. The Beatport chart-shredder will host Hulaween’s first-ever takeover by Off The Grid, Summit’s party-starting imprint, which will offer up sets by label favorites famed for igniting dance floors.
Other electronic music heavyweights headlining Hulaween include Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist/producer Elderbrook, producer polymath Big Wild, and revered house producer/vocalist Channel Tres.

On the jam side of the lineup, Hulaween founders The String Cheese Incident will serve up three nights of headlining performances. Phish-offshoot Trey Anastasio Band and critically-acclaimed indie-jam five piece Goose will play consecutive sets on the same night, following their joint tour across the North East last fall. Other headlining bands include Hulaween staple Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (2 sets), the Hulaween debut of Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, and legendary roots-rock outfit Dispatch.

Hulaween will also welcome neo-soul rapper Smino as the festival’s sole hip-hop headliner, as well as a headlining set by five-piece indie rock band Mt. Joy.

The festival will present a bevy of in-demand, electronic music support acts, including Montreal producer BLOND:ISH, underground bass purveyor Eprom, multi-faceted Italian DJ/producer duo Gioli &amp; Assia, ascendent bass producer ISOxo, genre-bending producer Manic Focus, ascendent trailblazer Moore Kismet, bass-focused producer supergroup Lab Group, and future-funk maestro Yung Bae.

Staying true to its band-focused roots, Hulaween will boast a medley of celebrated acts including funk-fusion ensemble Lettuce, funk-jam group Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and critically-acclaimed, Anatolian rock/Turkish psychedelic folk outfit Altin Gün.

The Hulaween 2023 lineup is brimming with more than 90 acts that cover all corners of the dance floor. Over the course of the past decade, Hulaween has hosted a plethora of genre-crossing artists the Spirit of the Suwannee’s idyllic grounds, which serves as perfect setting for attendees to fully immerse themselves in Florida’s lush, enchanting nature. 

Hulaween’s Spirit Lake is heralded as one of the leading immersive art experiences across American festivals, brimming with talented sculptors, fire/metal workers, painters, thespians, and lighting designers. Attendees can revel in lakefront projection mapping, hypnotizing light shows, interactive installations, and both visual and performance art, catch performances at Spirit Lake’s two stages, and groove into sunrise at the Silent Disco.

Interview with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong (Greg Returns!)

We had the pleasure of interviewing RedHook over Zoom video!

RedHook are a fiercely independent, shapeshifting alt-rock foursome from Sydney, Australia who’ve quickly accumulated a global fanbase and tens of millions of streams through their powerful songwriting and captivating live show.

Featuring the core creative duo of Emmy Mack and Craig Wilkinson, two strangers from regional New South Wales whose paths collided after moving to Sydney in 2017, RedHook combine with young gun drummer Alex Powys and seasoned bassist Ned Jankovic to create heartfelt, attitude-filled and relatable alternative rock music that consistently defies classification.

The strength of their debut single ‘Minute On Fire’ in 2018 was enough to attract the interest of one of the lead promoters of the UK’s iconic Download Festival, who swiftly invited RedHook over to play. The band were then snapped up by The Hen House Artist Management (worldwide) and inked booking deals with New World Artists (AUS) and Wasserman (UK/EU), going on to conquer some of Australia’s biggest music festival stages (Download, Good Things, Stonefest, BIGSOUND). They also completed their debut international tour (supporting metal titans Three Days Grace across the UK &amp; Europe), launched their own gender diversity-inspired alternative festival in Sydney, 'UsFest', and undertook four complete Australian tours (selling out the Melbourne and Sydney legs of their own debut headline tour).

As RedHook’s global fan base grew steadily with each single release and live show, many big things followed. The band were named triple j Unearthed feature artist, Kerrang! Radio feature artist and were invited to host the ABC’s iconic rage program. They’ve consistently featured as one of the top 50 most-played artists on triple j Unearthed every year since 2019.

2021 saw RedHook release their long-awaited debut EP ‘Bad Decisions’ which has ticked over 13 million Spotify streams and had its two lead singles added to rotation on triple j. The record earned praise from Kerrang! (UK), Rock Sound (UK), Rolling Stone (AUS) and many more, even scooping a 2022 AIR Independent Music Awards nomination for best punk EP or album.

RedHook continued their steady rise across 2022 with their debut performances at Australia’s UNIFY Gathering, Groovin’ The Moo and boutique festival Rolling Sets, as well as playing one of the world’s most iconic rock festivals Rock AM Ring/Rock im Park in Germany alongside the likes of Green Day and Muse, accompanied by a second tour of Europe supporting The Faim.

Their own headline ‘Bring Ya Mates’ tour was also a huge success with multiple sold out shows around Australia as it emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by a mammoth 28-date, two-month-long regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake and a triumphant return the Good Things festival stage alongside Bring Me The Horizon and Deftones, where RedHook made history as the first band to grace the lineup twice.

In May 2022, RedHook returned with ‘Jabberwocky’ their most gut-wrenching single to date, which was immediately added to triple j high rotation and added to the cover of Spotify’s popular ‘All New Rock’ Playlist. Follow-up singles ‘SAY’ and ‘Soju’ Ft. Sly Withers have both since been added to full rotation on triple j.RedHook recently released their long-anticipated debut album, Postcard From A Living Hell!

We had the pleasure of interviewing Kendall Tucker over Zoom video!

Country/Rap Artist Kendall Tucker recently released his new single “Dragging Me Down” featuring Jelly Roll and State Of Mine. The new single follows the success of his previous single “Stickup” featuring MYXED and Three Six Mafia co-founder Project Pat which has seen a positive response from fans as they get ready for Tucker’s forthcoming project set for release later this year. The new single “Dragging Me Down” is a motivational track that’s perfect for anyone battling their own struggles in life. For this new single Kendall has connected with the hottest Country/Rap artists today Jelly Roll alongside Billboard Chart topping rockers State of Mine.

When asked about his new single “Dragging Me Down,” Kendall Tucker says, "There's a lot of people in this world hurting. Everyone has their own demons they battle. Some people show it while others try to cover it up with a smile. I couldn't think of a better artist than Jelly Roll to have on this song. Jelly continues to bring hope to hurting people. With this collaboration of myself, Jelly Roll &amp; State of Mine we just want the people to know that they are not alone. You may feel like you're getting dragged down but don't give up, you'll get through this."

Kendall Tucker is a Florida/Nashville Country/Rap Artist from Ocala, FL. Growing up in the “Horse Capital of the World,” Kendall couldn’t help but grow some country roots. However, his musical influencers range from Eminem to Randy Travis. Kendall has always had a love for all genres of music which has helped him combine Country, Rock and Rap to make some of the most unique music you've ever heard. To date Kendall has recorded and worked with names such as Colt Ford, Jelly Roll, Bubba Sparxxx, Uncle Kracker, Craig Campbell and many more! Not only does Kendall give people good music, he also knows how to light up the stage with live performances alongside his full band. Kendall’s electrifying stage performance is sure to have you moving and singing along almost immediately. There’s no doubt that he’ll be a name that everyone will soon recognize!
