@toorough4radio is a “hazy, chicken wings on wax, tape and digital" label helmed by @en_rico_tr4r and @florianstuetzer and based between Berlin and Haldensleben, Germany. A home for a multitude of up-and-coming acts, for their latest V/A package they call on an array of fledgling producers, each of whom puts in an impressive shift here. Clued-in sounds for clued-in heads, this is a release that fans of discerning house are sure to lap up, with TR4R 02 featuring no less than 6 producers and friends of the label. 

At only 19 years old, @huhany is by some distance the youngest producer involved here. Based in Bonn, Germany, he’s an architecture student, drum player and bass player whose contribution here is nothing if not an auspicious one. ‘Refuel’ brings matters to deep and dark territory in a manner akin to celebrated veterans of the scene such as Jus Ed or Patrice Scott. A steeling baseline is paired with some clever drumwork here on a track that’s both haunting and beguiling at the same time. Seriously triumphant stuff, this is impressively sophisticated stuff from a producer who still hasn’t reached his 20th birthday.

Nørus (moniker of Felipe Bortoloti) is an up-and-coming name from Brazil's dusty-introspective house and techno scene. He can be found as a highlight on some of the most prominent lo-fi music channels and labels around the globe. Collecting references from his transitory living in different Brazilian cities, his music extends beyond the boundaries of 4x4 beats to surreal, ethereal landscapes and danceable rhythms. In São Paulo, his childhood home base, Nørus is moving forward in the search of his musical inner-self, dropping timeless gems on his label, Yellow Island Records.

The portuguese crew NSD strikes again with a new V.A., showcasing through 6 tracks the multiple directions that cross the label’s wide-ranging dance music aesthetic. From Dj Spielberg’s infused electro, to the proto-ghetto-house of Dj Legwarmer or the hazy vocal and breaks of Moreno Ácido, the A-Side is a ready one to any flared up dancefloor. On the flip, things get relaxed in a classical B-Side. Native Cruise introduces balearic senses to italo motorika, Dj Unsure presents his distinctive immersive and sedative slow-mo, and Dj Baywatch closes the mini compilation with a never-ending-mediterranean-summer cut. Collectively, the tracks emerge as a path, from the deepest hours in the club to the lull of the new beginnings.
