Haunted

Swedish hauntwave artist aux animaux has released her new EP ”The Hydesville Episode” on 3/3-2022.

The EP is different than her earlier releases. It is heavily instrumental and is meant to be soundtrack to an unmade horror film. The was inspired by spiritualism, satanism and occultism in the making of the EP. For example, she was inspired by seancés and possession which are partly a metaphor for the shadow work process she went through during the isolation due to the pandemic when she wrote the EP.

The EP gets its name from the first chapter of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s book The History of Spiritualism that talks about The Fox Sisters who started the spiritualist movement in Hydesville, NY in mid 1800s.

The songs are all produced and mixed by aux animaux herself. The mastering is done by Doruk Öztürkcan from the epic dakwave band She Past Away.

The photographer for the concept press photos and cover art is Jannike Viveka.
