Doubt — the flickering veil that hides the flame  
And burns your faith in your name

I whisper truths you wouldn’t dare  

What if I fail?!

What if I'm nothing?!  
What if I'm me…?

I feed on cracks you try to seal  
I bleed for every thought I feel  
I’m subtle, sweet, and always near

Doubt — the echo crawling through my spine  
The faithful friend who poisons time  

What if they lied?  
What if they did…  
What if they left?
