I'd Do Anything

Long before Sons of Regret I was in a band called Edison.  We started off as a three piece before adding a fourth member for the last few gigs.  Although I'd been writing before this, this was the start of writing what I considered "real songs".

After Edison ended I kept writing and recording demos but social media profiles were all changed to Kovac and then life happened and it all stopped. 

I have been trying to get this perfect and failing but realised these are songs written between 1996 and 2001 and they maybe need to sound a bit like that at times....so the probably will.  


3 AM

Empty Pan

Gravel tongue and a lantern sky,
She left in smoke without goodbye.
Breath turned black on windowpane,
I dream of rust and acid rain.

[Verse 2]
Her laugh still stains the maple floor,
Like blood beneath a cellar door.
Eyes stitched shut with threads and bone,
She sings through roots that crack my home.

[Hook]
I wear her name like steel wire,
Coiled tight around my throat.
The tree don’t bend the leash won't break,
I’m just bark,  bone and smoke.

[Verse 3]
Cracked memory echo holds faint,
Of nails and silk and drying paint.
Each step’s a thorn through shards of glass,
She speaks through me—but she never asks.

[Bridge]
Tetherbone, my tetherbone,
Bark for ghosts but liv alone.
She carved her name in bark and thread,
Now I'm left with what she bled.

[Hook – Repeat with slight variation]
I howl but no gods descend.
Her name's the rune I bend.
The collar's carved in stone and flame—
It drinks my breath. It speaks her name.

Crows don’t sing where love once lay,
Just creak and moan the wood will sway.

And none but silence speaks for me.

Tether Bone

Blues as a road, an exile, and redemption

With his second album, Ramble Soul, Ondelic dives even deeper into the dust-covered corners of the soul. Released in April 2025, the record cements the artist’s sonic identity: a roadside blues sound, dark and emotional, rooted in alternative folk with ghostly echoes from the American South.

The album’s eight tracks form a kind of diary of a drifter carrying pain in his pocket and ghosts in the passenger seat. With raw production and weighty lyrics, Ondelic turns silence and space into language — as in “Dust and Tears Highway,” which opens the record like a wandering lament, or “The Crows Whisper,” closing the cycle with an almost ritualistic hush.

Ramble Soul is an album of passage. It deals with escape, collapse, and renewal with the ease of someone who's walked those roads more than once. Stripped-down arrangements and a gravel-toned voice give the work an intimate weight — as if each song were sung to a mirror, or to the bottom of an empty glass.

More than a follow-up, this second record is an emotional and aesthetic refinement, where Ondelic finds clarity precisely in the shadows. It's an album to play while driving with no destination — or while lying still, staring at the ceiling, as the world outside spins in silence.
