Metaphoric sound piece. Created during the last lockdown in the city of The Hague. The sound piece tries to reflect the feelings and sphere you encounter in the urban space. As well the tensions within the society rose to a high level. Society became divided between vaxers, anti-vaxxers and people who became tired of all the regulations without perspectives.

 The piece was created for this year's NNOI 9 # festival theme. In this work there are nine points that interrupt the generally monographic flow of sound. The sound of these 9 highlights has nothing in common with the rest of the constant flow of the basic sound. The sound is similar to hitting two bamboo sticks or hitting a hollow wooden vessel with a wooden stick. The concept of this sound piece is based on the Japanese philosophy of MA. With MA, the Japanese describe the intentional distance created by a short pause between actions or by the empty space between objects. A distance that is not emptiness or lost time, but represents a special connection. The Japanese concept of Ma is something that relates to all aspects of life. It has been described as a pause in time, an interval or emptiness in space. Ma is the fundamental time and space from which life needs to grow. Space for the Japanese psyche directly impacts the individual’s progress. These principles are universal, when applied effectively they enhance the way one thinks and how one engages with one’s surroundings.
