Forgiveness Is Our Ground

Yeah… we’re all learning, day by day.

I’ve walked this room a thousand times, the talks we never finished,
The way I spoke in storms, the way we danced around what’s diminished.
If love is gravity, I’m trying not to fall in vain,
But pride can turn to red tape around a heart that’s strained.

You say you still feel me, even when I lose my way,
Forgiveness is the rain that helps the flowers stay.
If we’re gonna grow together, we gotta give up the doubt,
Let mercy be the compass when our voices drown them out.

Can forgiveness be the bridge through the night?
Can love return to us when we’re both tired from the fight?
No one’s perfect, not me, not you, only God above,
But forgiveness is the ground where healing grows.
Should I stay and fight, or shoulders down, release the strain?
If mercy leads the way, we might find our way again.
