Last month I had an exhibition in Berlin, “Bon Collage” with collagist Carl Apelicious where I showed my new project “Imaginary Movies” which were a type of digital collage.

These are posters which I made by taking some of my favourite “cinematic” paintings and imagining them as movies. I then made the posters for the films, imagining which actors might star in these imaginary films and what the critics might say about them.

The poster layouts are based on classic movie posters. The project is part of my research into the relationship between cinema and painting, which is funded by the Arts and Humanities Council of Great Britain.

Gillian McIver - Imaginary Poster Lecture

ART-HISTORY-FILM is a podcast by Gillian McIver author of ‘ART HISTORY FOR FILMMAKERS’ (Bloomsbury Press 2016) It is a series of discourses, debates and discussions about the intersection of cinema (and long-form TV), history and art history. Sometimes it’s just me talking about a film or picture, sometimes I’m in discussion with another writer, filmmaker or artist. 
All ideas I express here are my own. I’m pretty new to podcasting so it’s a learning curve. My book is a good starting point. If you want to have discussion with me let me know.
