Yes I have loved ones, family and friends but what is my legacy ? Life is short, life is precious. I’ve had a great life and experiences but what have I accomplished and who will remember me once Im gone ?

INCIDENTE A MEDIANOCHE

Voy a contaros amigos una historia
que sucedió un domingo de febrero
en medio de una noche oscura y fría
que poco a poco calaba hasta los huesos.

El incidente comienza en el pueblo
cuando después de haber pasado el domingo
al lado de la mujer de tus sueños
regresábamos al “tajo” cuatro amigos.

Íbamos felices y contentos
pues nuestro carro corría muy veloz
“te estás portando como un señor”
le decía Octavio que era el conductor.

Pero de pronto en medio del camino
y tras un extraño ruido en el motor
fue perdiendo fuerza nuestro utilitario
y, sin pensarlo, el frenazo de rigor
pues sin duda alguna había sucedido
algo importante y no tenía solución.

Cuando el coche estuvo ya parado
se abrió el capó para ver lo acaecido
vimos que el radiador se había rajado
y todo el agua habíamos perdido.

Lo que entonces pasó no os lo canto...
perdí el control y también mis compañeros:
recuerdo cuatro lenguas a destajo
despotricando como unos carreteros.

Cuando todo esto fue menguando
y a nuestro temple volvía el color
“no preocuparse, se hará autostop”
afirmó Domingo con determinación.

Pero con las “pintas que nos cantaban”
uno con las barbas y otro de militar
los otros dos hasta el moño manchados de grasa
¡así quién diablos nos iba a parar!
pero allá a las cuatro de la madrugada
un rezagado paró al ver al militar.

Pero cuando vio la “compañía”
con toda prisa se quiso echar atrás
“no le dé miedo, son de fiar”
exclamó Pepucho con gran serenidad.

Con insistencia logró convencerlo
de que nos dejara a los cuatro subir
pues aunque le resultara difícil creerlo
no éramos quinquis o gente de mal vivir.
Y si todo el lío quería saberlo
le prometía que no le iba a mentir.

Todo está visto muy por encima
porque la historia no es fácil de contar
pues estas cosas “pa” verlas ¡hay que vivirlas!
y entonces es cuando se puede opinar
por más que parezca un relato de risa
aquella noche jamás se nos olvidará.

MIDNIGHT INCIDENT

I'm going to tell you, friends, a story
that happened one Sunday in February
in the middle of a dark and cold night
that slowly chilled to the bone.

The incident begins in the village
when, after spending Sunday
with the woman of your dreams,
four friends were returning to work.

We were happy and content
because our car was going very fast
"You're behaving like a gentleman,"
Octavio, the driver, told her.

But suddenly, in the middle of the road
and after a strange noise from the engine
our car began to lose power
and, without thinking, we slammed on the brakes
because without a doubt something important had happened
and there was no solution.

When the car was finally stopped,
we opened the hood to see what had happened
we saw that the radiator had cracked
and we had lost all the water.

I won't tell you what happened then...
I lost control, and so did my companions:
I remember four tongues blaring out loud
ranting like cart drivers.

When all this was fading
and our temper was returning
"Don't worry, he'll hitchhike,"
said Domingo determinedly.

But with the "looks they were giving us,"
one with a beard and the other a soldier
the other two covered in grease up to their necks
who the hell was going to stop us!
But around four in the morning
a straggler stopped when he saw the soldier.

But when he saw the "company,"
he hurriedly wanted to back out
"Don't be afraid, they're trustworthy,"
exclaimed Pepucho with great serenity.

With persistence, he managed to convince him
to let the four of us get on,
because, although it was hard for him to believe,
we weren't quinquis or lowlifes. And if he wanted to know the whole mess,
I promised him I wouldn't lie.
