After a more simple framework with Two Guys' 2017 debut EP "Free Thoughts," the duo decided to step away from a more singer-songwriter approach and more towards a full band sound. With Brady's musical connections stretching long and far, he was able to get his two rhythm section bandmates from his other group, Duck Pond, to play bass and drums on the single. Recorded almost entirely in their college dorm room in the spring of 2018, Jaret and Carter put together this indie rock sound in "Don't Say" resembling something of 'Modern Man" from Arcade Fire's The Suburbs. Mixed by NY-based producer Chris Russo, the single hopes to retain the band's original sound while also stretching the limits to what musicalities can be achieved in a new world of popular music.

In today's music, artists sometimes feel like they have to play music that they don't necessarily want to play, in order to make the charts and become famous. Not all bands think that way. Jaret Phillips and Carter Brady always dreamed of creating their own music. Founded as an acoustic project in 2017 in Greenville, SC, The duo has strived to create a more personal experience with the listener, simplifying the personnel to just guitar and vocals. Their singer-songwriter styled debut EP “Free Thoughts” was recorded very quickly in each other’s dorm rooms, with little to no mixing or production done, giving it a more raw sound. Jaret Phillips' raspy vocals but deep lyrics help complement Carter Brady's intricate chordal melodies. With the lineup being made up of just vocals and acoustic guitar, let alone simplistic recording equipment, the album is a good example of how simple music can still be powerful.
