Today I had the privilege of going deep with Kristin Kruse, my mom! She shared her story about losing her husband (my dad) to short-term memory loss when she was just twenty-one years old. We talked about how she chose to go to rehab when she was 18. We talked about her experience as a single mom, and about her cage fighting at 50! Yes, I just said that, and I’m just as stunned + impressed as you are. She’s used mixed martial arts as a way to cope with loss and a way to break through the hurt and hidden parts of who she is.

Ep. 2 — Turning Adversity into Strength + Cage Fighting at 50 with Kristin Kruse

In today’s solo episode I share with you the in’s and out’s of my childhood upbringing. I talk candidly (and at times super uncomfortably!) about my experience with serial monogamy; constantly jumping from one relationship to the next. I talk about growing up with a parent who has a disability and growing up with a young single mother.

This is a juicy episode that is great for anyone looking to find the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s there! Even when we don’t believe that it is! I hope that this serves as the permission slip you may need or have bee wanting to own your story, even when its ugly and scary sometimes.
