This is a rephrasing of Refaat Alareer's famous poem that begins "If I must die / you must live / to tell my story."  I basically recast it enough to make it something I could put a tune to.

This is my attempt at a song described in by MCA Hogarth in the book _Cantor For Pearls_.  The title, and the lines “So does it shimmer through the night / And crest the hills at dawn” are from the book, the rest is mine.  The song is a carol about a yearly phenomenon in which magic is renewed (it is a fantasy book.)
