À travers la métaphore du voyage dans l’espace, le morceau vise à nous arracher à notre réalité trop souvent remplie de périodes sombres, d’enfermement et de solitude. En partant de matières bruitées, sombres, granuleuses, qui nous renvoient à notre existence terrestre, des processus de filtrages et résonances les transforment pour en extraire une essence plus lumineuse. Cette exploration sonore en forme d’ascension symbolise notre recherche d’un autre mode d’existence, d’une élévation spirituelle.

Lost Cave Knowledge

This piece is a study of the energy model of the spiral. I wanted to
explore this extremely directional and unpredictable physical phenomenon. Directional
by its linear, extremely tense and unequivocal movement of acceleration. Unpredictable
by its sudden end, although expected. It is difficult to accurately predict when
a spiral will stop spinning, but we know that this moment comes at a certain time.
This musical work is built of constant energy boosts and many spirals that
turn, waltz and accelerate without ever coming to an end, losing themselves in an infinite acceleration.

Cette pièce est en quelque sorte une étude du modèle énergétique de la spirale. J'ai voulu
explorer ce phénomène physique à la fois extrêmement directionnel et imprévisible. Directionnel
par son mouvement d'accélération linéaire, extrêmement tendu et sans équivoque. Imprévisible
par sa fin soudaine, malgré qu'attendue. Il est en effet difficile de prédire avec précision quand
une spirale arrêtera de tourner, mais on sait que ce moment arrive à un certain moment.
La pièce est construite de constantes relances énergétiques et de nombreuses spirales qui
tournent, valsent et accélèrent sans jamais aboutir, se perdant dans une accélération infinie.

L'étude Centripete

Synthèse Microscopique is a hexaphonic piece which explores the depths of sound in order to reveal its imperceptible qualities. As a magnifying glass can reveal the internal structure of the fibers of a fabric, which seen from afar seems united and smooth, I try to bring out the characteristics of sounds when they come closer to us. Built almost exclusively with the Massive X synthesizer, my track is divided into three sections. The first is a presentation of the sound material, which appears on the horizon and approaches, gradually revealing its sonic fibres. The central part, a bit like the adagio of a concerto, is a slow stroll through a long soundtrack where you dive a few times, letting yourself get absorbed by the grandeur that the sounds can have. The piece ends with the enlargement of a series of long objects which appear and disappear, revealing at each close up the structure of their sonic fabric.

Synthèse Microscopique est une pièce hexaphonique qui explore les profondeurs du son afin d’y relever ses qualités imperceptibles. Comme une loupe peut faire dévoiler la structure interne des fibres d’un tissu, qui vu de loin semble uni et lisse, j’essaie de faire ressortir les caractéristiques des sons lorsque ceux-ci se rapprochent de nous. Construit presque exclusivement avec le synthétiseur Massive X, ma pièce se divise en trois sections. La première est une présentation de la matière, qui apparaît à l’horizon et qui se rapproche, dévoilant petit à petit ses fibres sonores. La partie centrale, un peu comme l’adagio d’un concerto, est une lente errance au travers d’une longue trame sonore où on plonge à quelques reprises se laissant absorber par la grandeur que les sons peuvent avoir. La pièce se termine par l’agrandissement d’une série de longs objets qui apparaissent et disparaissent, dévoilant à chaque rapprochement la structure de leur tissu sonore.

Singularity (2022)

A singularity is a region of space-time where current laws of physics don’t apply. Its infinite density and gravity irremediably attract any celestial body. Multiple cosmic spaces will converge towards this peculiar point, either colliding or merging. Various shapes of odd astral objects, sparkling and flickering matters vainly try to escape the inexorable attraction of this gravitational node and are ultimately absorbed by it.

Originally composed for a 16-loudspeaker dome, the piece was remixed in stereo format.
