Slave To The Rhythm (Barry Harris 2021 Remix)

I kept it at the original 124 BPM. New beefed up kick, all original tracks (keyboards, guitars, bass etc.) remixed from scratch. Everything is now sliced, diced & quantized from top to bottom, yet maintaining a performed live feel. I just tightened up the band - severely! Easy to mix intro & outro. 
Once again, "remixed old school with today's technology".

Yet again, I remixed this using the original multi-tracks. I kept it at the original 117 bpm. Sliced and diced everything which is now quantized to a grid yet maintaining the original live band feel.
I bounced this down NOT slamming it loud nor over compressed to maintain as much of the original dynamics as possible.
There's a lot going on in this mix with all these original live musicians.

A LOT of work, but i loved every minute! I love this song so much.

"Doctor Love" (Barry Harris 2022 Club Remix)

As i've been doing lately. I took all the original multi-tracks, pumped 'em up from 111 bpm then sliced, diced and quantized EVERYthing to a steady 118 bpm grid. This is my full 'directors cut' mix. I also did an edit that clocks in around 7 mins.
Love working with horn sections and real musician performances. Once again tons of work and it's kinda remixed old school (very few overdubs) with today's technology. Still wanted to keep the original feel of the live band yet make it 'simple stupid' easy to now mix in and out of in today's world.

I Got My Mind Made Up (Barry Harris 2022 Full Mix)

All the multi tracks were sliced n' diced and slowed it down to a more current 126 BPM. Everything remixed & I kept the original integrity of the song we all know and have loved over the years.
For those Hi-NRG fans who prefer the faster bpm i'll have a more traditional 131 bpm mix done next week.
Meantime, this is my fave mix. Had a lot of fun with this & another labour of love!

I decided i wanted to remix this yet again with a new attitude and where my head is at these days remix wise. As i've been doing the past couple of years i wanted to take as much of the original and freshen it up using all the original multi-tracks, slicing, dicing, quantizing the entire band and adding my touch here and there reprogramming and extending a lot of sections. This is my # 1 favourite disco era song of all time. It's pure genius and Dan Hartman composed a masterpiece IMO. 
I kept it at the original 121 bpm and it's now a ridiculous 15:31 long (and i love every second of it)!

I used all the original multi-tracks. Sliced, diced & quantized everything at the original 115 bpm. I did NOT do any additional production, or rewrite the music. I brought up the piano, gave it a fresh new bottom heavy kick, added a few claps in the breakdown, made an easy to mix intro and outro, cleaned everything up digitally, remixed everything "from scratch" and brought the mix up to 2022 quality. A lotta work yet a lotta fun!

Barry Harris was the first club DJ in the world to write, produce and perform a Top 40 hit he titled “I Beg Your Pardon” by a studio act he named Kon Kan.

“I Beg Your Pardon”, became an international Top 5 hit around the world, garnering a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Best Dance Recording in 1990.

In 1998 Barry relocated to Los Angeles to  coproduce in the remix duo Thunderpuss producing more than 40 #1 Billboard Dance remixes including hits for major label recording artists Madonna, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion & Donna Summer to name a few.

Barry & Thunderpuss is best known for Whitney Houston’s Top 5 global hit, “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” which remains in steady rotation today as well as Barry's  "Dive In The Pool (Let's Get Soakin' Wet). 
Also winner of 2 IDMA Awards best remixer of the year at WMC and another IDMA Award for Best Underground Dance Record of the Year.
