This album is to create funds for prisoners of Kill the Bill (KTB) protests in March of 2021. The funds raised will be donated to the Bristol Anarchist Black Cross who organise the crucial work to support the prisoners. We have pieced this together from several members of our community from across the country who have been kind enough to provide tracks for this album. A massive thanks is also in order to @mollyydrew (instagram) for the album cover!

At the time of writing we have seen 30 comrades imprisoned for fighting an authoritarian piece of legislation. They collectively have been sentenced to 94 years and eights months, a lifetime spent in prison. Their liberty has been taken away from them by the machinations of the British state. This loss of liberty is exposure to the true nature of the state’s monopoly of violence where they will witness those who lose their lives to the prison system. The UK may not have the death penalty but the penalty of prison for some is death. They have lost their freedom, so we must use ours to support them whilst they are captives of the state.

These comrades are friends, travelers, fellow ravers, squatters, activists and chosen family members. Some of these people we have never met, some of them we have but one thing is certain and that is we must support each and every one of them because I know that in our community they would support us if we were in their place.

I am the Ruiner, known as Angel Enemy. Angel is my birth name, while Enemy is a moniker given to me by local gang members. In their words, "That's Enemy because no one's on his side." I was born in Hemet but grew up in Moreno Valley, a suburb of Riverside, in the Greater Los Angeles region of California, also known as the Inland Empire, the nexus of the world entertainment industry. This is part of my story.

1994 was pivotal. At just twelve, I immersed myself in DJing, realizing I didn’t experience the stage fright that many others did. As Deep House and Latin House ascended, they evolved into LA/Chicago Hard House. During this time, I aligned myself with a party crew named Afterlife, where I forged a bond with Misery, one of the founders who became a big brother figure to me. He even let me close our club in Riverside with hardcore sets a couple of times—a great way to make everyone leave. Hardcore became not just a genre but a core part of my identity.

From 1994 to 1997, thanks to Ron D Core sending me 12” records COD, my collection exploded. This era witnessed the rise of Terror and the formalization of Speedcore (now having its name!), as the rave scene took hold worldwide. DJ Tron and Delta-9 became my DJ idols, alongside artists like Disciples of Annihilation and Industrial Terror Squad. By 1997/1998, I was determined to delve into music production by any means necessary. Give me a cooking pan and a microphone, and I was ready to create. I met lifelong friends like Dr. Klaw, Dynasty, Diskore, and later Nicole, Rob Res, K-0s, Novokain, Abhorrent, Baseck, Minion, Slyten, and Onslaught. These friendships laid the foundation for what Angel Enemy would ultimately represent—not just a DJ, but a true expression of my artistry in its final form if I could ever allow it.

Though many gravitated towards my musical interests, my peers had already established paths. This dynamic was different. Counting my peers and local legends like Fiend, Ron D Core, Arcid, Virtue, Techno-B, C1B2, 303 Abuse, Inyoung, Teknoman, and Demigod, you get the sound of the LA Hardcore Underground—one of the most diverse scenes you'll ever find. Good friend of The Oblivion Show, Tripped returns to share updates on his recent album release, health, and ongoing art project. 

A Hardcore Techno legend from Belgium, Tripped has been DJing since the age of 15. As the manager of Madback Records, he's responsible for a diverse range of techno-infused hardcore, and uses the label to showcase his abstract paintings. 

Known for spanning Rave, Techno, Industrial, Acid, and Gabber, Tripped has performed at major events worldwide, including Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, Tomorrowland, and Defqon.1. In 2023, he celebrated 20 years of dedication to the scene!
