本作「RA・SI・SA」は、全面プロデュースと楽曲を関東で活動するDJ/トラックメーカーのSUNGAが担当。ジャケット写真を関西で活動する写真家の倉科直弘が担当。
そして私の友人WATER a.k.a.マリヲがラップを担当して完成させた全8曲入りのEPです。

SUNGAのレイドバック感と緊張感が絶妙な割合で混ぜ合わされたBEATに乗って、
WATERが、彼の暮らす大阪淡路で日々見ている情景や自身の想いをありのままに
赤裸々と彼の言葉で綴った、随筆集のような味わいを感じる内容に仕上がっています。
また、倉科直弘が4日間もの間WATERと行動を共にし撮影した写真の中から選ばれた1枚を全面にあしらえたEPジャケットからは、WATERのここ数年の音楽制作の充実ぶりや暮らしの豊かさが垣間見れます。
前作「F.W. EP」から更に深まった彼の世界感を存分に感じられる内容である本作は、私にとって2021年を代表するEPになることは間違いありません。

なおWATERとの友好の証として彼に寄贈した私のリミックスが6曲目に収録されています。
彼の動向を古くから知る友人の一人として「ダークサイドマリヲ」の愛すべき違和感を私なりに抽出して作りました。こちらも併せてどうぞ。

This work "RA / SI / SA" is handled by SUNGA, a DJ / track maker who is active in the Kanto region and produces all the songs. Naohiro Kurashina, a photographer active in Kansai, is in charge of jacket photography.
And my friend WATER a.k.a. Mariwo was in charge of the rap and completed the EP with all 8 songs.

Riding on BEAT, where SUNGA's laid-back feeling and tension are mixed in an exquisite ratio,
WATER's daily scenes in Awaji, Osaka, where he lives, and his own feelings as they are
The content is finished in a taste like an essay collection, spelled out naked in his words.
In addition, from the EP jacket with one selected from the photos taken by Naohiro Kurashina together with WATER for four days, WATER's music production has been fulfilling and living in the last few years. You can get a glimpse of the richness.
There is no doubt that this work, which gives you a deeper sense of his world from the previous work "F.W. EP", will be the representative EP for 2021 for me.

In addition, my remix donated to him as a proof of friendship with WATER is recorded in the 6th song.
As one of my friends who have known his trends for a long time, I extracted and made the lovable discomfort of "Dark Side Mariwo". Please also check this out.

Where did you grow up? Was it a single place or many places? How did this influence the songs you listened to?

I was born and raised in Detroit. I've resided most of my life in Southwest Detroit and that definitely has an impact on what I listen to.  Music has been a topic of conversation since grade school.


Can you pick one song in the mix and explain where you first listened to it?

Project Pat - Now You Know The Business
I first heard this song on a bootleg cassette I bought from the dollar store. Bought that tape 3 times because my teacher confiscated it when I listened to it in class.


Who “introduced” you to these songs? Was it a person, a radio station, a CD?

I used to sit in front of my boombox and just listen to WJLB, WDRQ and The Planet all day. My mom and dad had records, CDs, and cassettes of all kinds of stuff like Motown, jazz, freestyle and rock. Even my sister would give me tapes when I was younger.


Where and when did you first hear techno? Who did it sound like it was for?

My first impressions on techno music was on mix shows that aired on WJLB with DJs like Gary Chandler, DJ Polo, DJ Zap just to name a few. I thought to myself, “wow this music has a lot of energy and bass to it. I could imagine people in a club with lots of lights and big speakers.” 


You’ve got the microphone. What do you want to say?

My words to the techno community: Don't make this shit cookie cutter music!!!! keep pusing further than what it is now and remember it's to bring people together and sonically take you into the future.

Today, we are featuring Osaka’s long-run crossover underground party Midi_sai’s 23rd anniversary party that we had last month.
The first 105 min is a recording of Jerome Hill’s amazing, unforgettable play at the MIDI sai that you can keep dancing with forever, and the last 15min of the show is the last part of KA4U’s closing set at the same party.
Massive respect for the local artists for supporting and organizing the special night, dedicated to the local underground electronic music scene in Osaka. it was packed with young ravers and long-time underground music fans, and I hope you can feel the good vibe of the party from these recordings. The Knights Of The Occasional Table
South-east London multiracial dance band, comprising Steve, Nygell, Moose, Andrew and vocalist Aquamanda. Their debut album was initially released on their own label before being picked up by Club Dog. Its title - Knees Up Mother Earth - offered a big clue to their sound, wherein modern technological means (programmes, drum machines, samplers) were employed to deliver a primal beat with varied ethnic stylings. The Knights have not been as immediately successful as stylistic counterparts Fun-Da-Mental or Transglobal Underground, ensuring Steve and Andy continue their day-time jobs as psychiatric nurse and journalist for Stage And Television Today respectively.
