KAP 016 - Tapeworks (Preview).

An enigmatic piece that comes straight out of the blocks at full speed, with a thickening groove that falls back on soft gentle ambient synth sounds.

This track is like a heavy weight boxer that just keeps on punching, but every now & again he brings the pace right down just to give the listener just a minute or so to catch their breath, until the pace kicks back up again.

This piece is also enriched with some lovely ambient pad sounds, that give it an extra texture, while concluding with some dark disturbing narrated vocals..

Taken from 'Delete Beach', Mica Levi’s original soundtrack to an animé by acclaimed artist and Turner prize nominee Phil Collins, released on Demdike Stare’s DDS label. 

Following on from the maverick pop auteur and film composer’s European Film Award-winning score to 'Under The Skin', and her 'Jackie' soundtrack, this is Mica’s first musical accompaniment for animation, by revered designer Marisuke Eguchi, animated by STUDIO4ºC.
