Strange, rarefied atmospheres bloom on ‘Canto De Pájaro’ – the second single from Arto’s forthcoming latin-experimental project

We can say confidently that this song from Danish producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Arto Louis Eriksen is one of the most enigmatic works we’ve had the pleasure of releasing on our label.
 
A recording of choral voice, body percussion, djembe drum and bottle blowing might sound like a bit of light-hearted tinkering. It is anything but. A strange work of strangely ceremonial air, ‘Canto De Pájaro’ arranges its elements with both precision and intimacy. Arriving as if from some other world, fully formed and inexplicable.
 
The song is the second single from Arto’s forthcoming project, described as a freewheeling mix of Latin and Caribbean folk sounds:
 
“The album was conceived during a two-week long high where everything felt open and possible.
 
I didn’t know exactly what I was doing, but I was following a feeling. I was filled with an ecstatic gratitude for life and wanted to make music that could lift everything and everyone.
 
Highlife, Samba and Calypso were swirling around in my head so the album became a mix of those vibes, created in a state of pure happiness and surrender.”
 
The album, titled Qué Vida Feliz, will be released next summer on Music For Dreams.
 
When Arto is not immersed in prolonged quasi-spiritual explorations of new genres, he is producing songs for some of Denmark’s biggest names in pop music: Tobias Rahim, Andreas Odbjerg, Drew Sycamore, Gilli, Icekiid, Bbybites and Burhan G. Arto has previously released music under the moniker Yo Johnny.

The Danish producer’s new single fills its basket with tropes in a retro-stylized throwback to that charmingly naïve chapter of Scandinavian pop music filled wth starry-eyed rollerskating glitter-clothed boys and girls in erect hopeful postures and salon-tanned bronze skin.
 
The music of Mike Salta aka Gert Nygaard flaunts an eclectic palette, collecting strands from New Orleans funk, 80’s italo disco or Brazilian tropicalia and transforming them into rich and sun-drenched dance music.
 
The Danish producer is currently working on the follow-up to his 2024 debut LP Moloko Island. ‘Cellophane Nights’ will feature on the album.

FSQ (Funk Style Quality) is a six-man funk production team comprising Sa’d ‘The Hourchild’ Ali, Chuck ‘Da Fonk’ Fishman, Morgan Wiley, One Era, Chas Bronz and G Koop. The group has been releasing music since 2014.

This track fully synthesizes our energy, as we blend sounds and create a distinct identity in our creative process between Rio de Janeiro and Copenhagen and beyond. I decided to make an acoustic version to bring our audience closer to the essential core of this composition.”
 
Copenema is the collaborative project masterminded by Brazillian singer and multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Sha. The essence of the music is Brazilian, yet Sha takes it
on a route from the samba and bossa-nova of Rio de Janeiro to the Balearic Beat of
Ibiza – by way of the northern city of Copenhagen where the Music For Dreams label
and many of the album’s collaborators are based.

Greek electronic artist Achilleas Dimitracopoulos continues his enigmatic output under the CheapEdits moniker with his second album on Music For Dreams.
 
Bleak Poetry comprises eight tracks of mystical, hypnotic grooves that deepen and blossom through a mix of acoustic and electronic elements. We move from dreamy fourth world sounds to silky electro and flowy post-rave textures, exploring the territory but never fully departing the Balearic mythology of lapping waves and transcendent sunsets.
 
CheapEdits’ previous work includes the 2021 album Nuit Electrique and the 2023 EP Cozmika. The artist is based on the island of Corfu.

Jacob is a Spanish guitar player from Denmark. He first met his soul mate, the Spanish guitar, in 2002 when he joined legendary Danish hippie group Savage Rose, and they’ve been global travelling companions ever since. 

Mexican Margarita is a classic in the making, one of those tunes that you feel like you already know on first listen. It’s such a civilised record: the atmosphere it creates is like an early morning café con leche at Croissant Show in Ibiza town, watching the crazy people pass by.
