Tenement Yards have been a major talking point of the inner cities in Jamaica for years, but nobody mentioned the living conditions in some Middle class or upscale communities. I have had the experience and decided to speak about it.

THE CAREY JAMES - UPTOWN TENEMENT YARD

'The Carey James' is a dynamic musician based in Kingston Jamaica. He brings to music lovers a composer, songwriter, and artiste who fuses Reggae with popular genres worldwide; aimed at giving listeners a euphoric feel. Exposed to numerous music legends while growing up, he has seen his sound likened to Jamaican greats such as Shaggy, Diana King, and Sean Paul. 

Carey James, born September 24, 1989, started to pursue his love for music with an opportunity to play drums at church during his teenage years. This transformed into composing instrumentals while still in high school and has been developing all aspects of his music since then. Carey has also made a huge step in his quest for musical success, venturing into Audio Engineering after his studies at the University of the West Indies. Carey James went on to spend 3 years as a member of a duo and released four singles. In summer 2017 Carey decided to engage an audience that can relate to his personal experiences, opting to pursue a solo career rejuvenated as The Carey James.
His latest music is generally based on personal experiences and The Carey James hopes that these experiences will serve as motivation to others.
