Small Waves, for mezzo-soprano, tenor, flute, cello and piano, was commissioned by the Erato Ensemble in cooperation with the Living Oceans Society. Written as a collaboration with Susan Hughson (poet), Small Waves was premiered Nov. 26, 2016 in Vancouver B.C. The performers are Melanie Adams (mezzo-soprano soloist), Will George (tenor soloist), Jeff Pettelier (flute), Stefan Hintersteininger (cello) and Nina Horvath (piano).

Glenn Sutherland, composer, has studied with Michael Trew, Lane Price, and Jocelyn Morlock. His works have been performed by soloists, ensembles and orchestras both in Canada in Europe. Recently, Winnipeg’s award-winning Esprit de Choeur, performed a commissioned piece as part of the 2015 Tapestry International Festival for Women’s Voices.  He has been published by Mayfair Music and Avondale Press, and is the CMC’s Emerging Composer competition winner for 2016.
