Coming off the back of his critically acclaimed Indigo LP, Icelandic Techno producer Exos drops a fresh EP full of his organic electronic grooves.
A1 harks back to the days of a simple, driving, and addictive acid tracks, followed by some deeply hypnotic, icy rhythms on A2. The flipside’s B1 introduces a spiraling synth motif, its climatic effect another prime example of Exos’ unparalleled skill of pairing the sublime with the straight-forward.
Slowing things down quite a bit, the vinyl’s last track balances between atmospheric details and gorgeous basslines, conjuring up a mystical downbeat scenery.
Fashioned in much the same kind of organic texture, the digital bonus track builds upon the enchanted vibes for another percussive excursion into unchartered psychedelic territory.

Music is our sole driving force. Eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity are the values we cherish. To achieve this, 3 or 4 artists from different musical backgrounds will come together on each release.
All of our artists, whether known or unknown, will work under a secret code name so that their true identities remain out of the public domain to avoid any preconceived ideas or a particular bias. By doing this, the music will always come first. Each release will be identified by a simple QR code, which, when flashed, will take you to a web page that will give, among other things, the artist's code name.
In the current market, most digital and vinyl sales occur over an average period of 2 months. Once this time period has elapsed, the true identity of each artist (if they wish) will finally be revealed on our web site. It is only then, two months after the release that the artists will be allowed to start communicating.
Contrary to the usual practice, COD3 QR will search out artists rather than the other way around, so it won't be possible to send us music. The founders of COD3 QR will also remain anonymous because their identities must not affect the image, expectations or perception of the label. To ensure anonymity, all of our artists will sign a contract agreeing to keep silent or be economical with the truth about the identity of those behind the label and the artists.
The music alone will be the reason why we sign an artist, and we want music to be the only reason for people to take an interest and engage with the label. For this to succeed, we must remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!

Ibadan announces the release of a new remix by Dennis Quin of Kerri Chandler & Jerome Sydenham ft. Troy Denari - You’re In My System on August 2, 2019.

Quin, a self-professed house addict and die-hard Kerri Chandler fan since the early nineties, had been searching for a new vocalist to work with. He turned to Simon Birkumshaw, label manager and A&R of Chandler’s Madhouse Records, who recommended Troy Denari, the new vocalist of the classic Ibadan track “You’re In My System”. When Denari revealed that had just resung the vocals, Quin was inspired to remix the track.

Quin’s aim with this remix was to update the track for his sets and give it contemporary production values in line with his current energetic sets. “It’s always tricky to put your hands on a huge record like this,” he says. “It’s a legendary track that everyone knows, so I was extremely careful in terms of mixing, timing, and all the rest.” The result is a modern version of the classic that is very true to the original. At the same time, Quin makes his mark by bringing his own drum and percussion into the mix.

The remix versions cover all the bases, including atmospheric dub, club and instrumental mixes, plus a special three-minute edit for Spotify.

Working together for the first time, the members of the musical team were excited to exchange their ideas. “Troy, Kerri, Jerome and I have gained so much out this intense collaboration. It has developed into a deep friendship that is all about house music, good vibes and pride in our achievements. Each of us is fulfilled by our individual roles in this project. I’m really proud to be part of this family.”

Christine Pedersen, managing director of Ibadan Records, is excited about Quin’s first release on the label. “It came highly recommended from Kerri and we have been following Dennis for some years. And it’s always a pleasure to welcome new and talented collaborators into the fold. And I love the new vocal. Troy’s singing brings a fresh spin to the track.”
