"Creating my Deep Breakfast mix was a mystical experience for me. Blending songs and adding field recordings became a way to build miniature worlds that together feel like their own new whole. Something new to share with you, and it’s a bit of a shift from my usual sound.
With my wife’s pregnancy, I found myself drawn to making more peaceful, ambient music—something calming for her, for our baby, and soon, for you. Instead of beats and samples, I’ve been working with real instruments (with piano and organ recorded in Bøler kirke in Oslo), field recordings from the Norwegian wilderness (thanks to my brother-in-law), and subtle white noise textures.
It’s different, but it feels right. Beginning by previewing tracks on Soundcloud, with a wider release on all the usual streaming platforms and Bandcamp later in the year. I’d love for you to hear it.

“Ad Astra” is a second single/EP by Logica Abstracta from recently released full-length album “Headspace Station” and is the project at it’s finest: short, deep ambient piece that immediately fills the space with it’s own kind of aural light. Themes of exploration and space exploration in particular often pop-up on Logica Abstracta’s records. This time, it’s vibe pays tribute to sci-fi of the old days, it’s naivety and epic scales.

This is a piece that is pretty much entirely an improvisation that I recorded 20 years ago.  I've been meaning to edit it and make it presentable ever since then, but for whatever reason(s), it's taken me until now to do that.  It is essentially the same form and melodic content, just with many of the textural elements tidied up.  I hope you enjoy it!
