Do you know that? During your life, you lose loved ones on the way. By death, abandonment, conscious decision of one's own, or simply because you are too busy with your work or circumstances in life, you could not stay in touch.

You can't get certain people out of your head, even if they have not been part of your life for many years. Moments, memories and faces are part of the everyday thoughts and they can not be switched off or repressed.

These are the thoughts that the song "Ghost" describes. Moments that can only take place in your head, because it is no longer possible to spend time with that person.

Often there is only a photo left that shows the loved one, sometimes not even that. Then there are places, smells, objects or even songs that are able to put us back in time in our world of thoughts for a short time.

These are the moments songwriters Rob George, Shane Bates, Kristin K. Smith and Skot Bradley have tried to put into words and music. For Shane Bates, this is the first project to find its way to publication.

Whatever happens, no matter how old we get, we carry the loved ones with us in our hearts and will be remembered again and again.

Time For Some Ink

It was in spring 2019 when Kristin K. Smith and Rob Georg asked themselves the following question: Does the world need another Christmas Song? After weighing up the pros and cons for some days, the answer was a clear yes. But it had to be something different, their plan was to think out of the box when starting this special project. They came up with the idea to write this song out of a soldier’s perspective, far away from home, on foreign ground, missing his or her loved ones and dreaming of being home for celebrating Christmas together with them.

Writer, producer and vocal coach Kristin K. Smith had an ace up her sleeve. She asked no other than Corey Lee Barker, NACMAI songwriter of the year 2012, to join the project and give his incredibly skillful Christmas Song talent into the song.The team worked for several weeks and came up with a totally different Christmas Song in the end. A song, that delivers a Christmas feel on one hand, but also includes a “Thanks for your service” vibe on the other, honoring the women and men in uniform, who sacrifice so much, sometimes everything, to protect our freedom.

Though the 3 writers know that their Christmas Wish will not be fulfilled for every soldier, they do hope that as many modern day heroes as possible may have a peaceful Christmas at home with their families and friends. And for all the others, who will not make it home for the holidays, stay safe and have a Merry Christmas, wherever you are. And for those who gave everything, we will never forget!

Maybe you can also invite a veteran to join you and your family for having dinner on Christmas Eve. We owe them a lot, we owe them our freedom, we owe them that we can celebrate in peace, make them part of it, it's Christmas, it's the time to show love and to give back.

When I Make It Home For Christmas

I will never forget that day, it was January 3rd back in 1999, it was the day our daughter Lisa was born. It was the day when I discovered a new meaning of life, a new responsibility and a knew kind of love that I never felt before. All you parents out there may understand what I am talking about.

From day one I had a very deep connection to my daughter, which only got deeper through the following years, even though we had not only fun times, especially when she was a teenager. But I think that's part of it, and it can't be easy always. As a father, you carry this fear in your heart: "What if you do and give everything you can but you fail as a father." I mean, it was kind of an experiment, I never raised a child before, and you never know if you do things right. A child doesn't come with an instruction booklet.

The years passed by so fast and she will be 21 this year. Looking at her, at this young lady that she is now, I feel more than proud to be the Dad of this wonderful human being that she is today.
It seems like I have done everything right. She has finished school and is a Make Up Artist today. Lisa is a blessing for my parents, she takes care of them at least 2 times a week, shopping groceries for them and taking them to different doctor's appointment.

She is also taking care of the ranch and all the animals together with my future son-in-law when my wife and me are recording in Nashville or when we have gigs to play.
​
She understands the meaning of what the word "Family" means and that makes me so proud, cause family is the biggest treasure in the world. No matter what will come, I know that my wife and me prepared her in the best way to walk her way in life.
​
With that song I wanted to say "Thank you" for all you are and will be, you are my gift called life.

This Gift Called Life

Throughout my life, music has been my constant companion, comforting me in gloomy times and inspiring me in happy times.

For me, there is no better way to express feelings than singing accompanied by my guitar.

Growing up with horses, my professional path led me first into equine sports, especially int Cutting, a discipline of western riding, which is ridden on horses working cattle. For the past 10 years, I have successfully showed Cutting Horses in Europe and the USA and was on the board of the National Cutting Horse Association of Germany for 6 years, most of this time as president.

Influenced by the cowboy lifestyle, country music owns a big part of my musical passion. In various performances at family and friends events, I was always told, to do more with music in my life.

As a result, the desire to record 2 self-written songs in Nashville one day got priority on my bucketlist. I fulfilled this wish in March 2018. I had not hoped to come back to Germany with more than a burned CD with my 2 own songs on it for my CD shelf at home.

However, my vocal coach and recording studio, Kristin K. Smith, saw things differently and as the song was recorded, she gave me advice to publish the song in different ways and to give my music a new status in future.

Shortly after the release on 06/23/2018, the single is on the radio in Europe, in the US and also Canada, over 4,000 fans registered on my Facebook page within only 2 weeks. The fans come from all over Europe, USA and Canada. Of course, I am pretty proud that my music is so well received in the home country of country music, the US. The music video of “Push That Horn” was also viewed over 10,000 times on Youtube and Facebook in the first 2 weeks.

First appearances in Nashville at songwriter nights have convinced me, that I can actually reach many people with my music, with my own songs and that not only my friends and family are enthusiastic about my singing.

In addition to writing writing new songs and future recordings in Nashville, you can book me for Countrymusic Events, weddings, birthdays, city festivals, motorcycle rallies, pubs, whiskey tastings, company parties, bachelor parties, business launches, and funerals. Your event is not listed? I am open for new suggestions.

My repertoire ranges from classical titles to modern pieces of the country / folk section and also includes the pieces written by myself.

From 10/21/2018 until 11/10/2018 i had been in Nashville to record new songs, which will be released every 6 weeks, starting 11/15/2018 with a new version of 'Push That Horn' with female background vocals by Mel Georg.

It was a great experience to track the instruments at Saxman Studios and vocals at Sound Emporium Studios and see the songs come to life with the great people involved in the project.

After all new songs will be released as singles, they will be part of my upcoming first album in 2020.
