My meager homage to one of Iceland's most significant and esoteric post-punk groups, Þeyr. "En..." is the first track from their 1980 début LP "Þagað Í Hel". Here, it is seen as my first attempt at covering this fantastic band.

far be it from me to share new and original material here yet here we now find it.

Innocen(ts) [Recent Demo, Take I]

A favorite song of mine for several years, now, it has taken all this time for my instrumental abilities (drums, in particular) to be up-to-snuff.

My initial intent was to record the original Icelandic version of this song, „Tedrukkinn", as it appears on the 1981 EP „Iður til Fóta", however with no way of ascertaining a credible transcription of the Icelandic lyrics, I was relegated to the secondary English version, "Are You Still There?", released on "As Above...", the foreign-audience edition of „Mjötvíður Mær".
Owning a rare vinyl copy which includes the inner sleeve, I was able to verify these lyrics...

What began as an experiment in production and an attempt to learn one of my favorite gothic songs of all time, from the 1984 eponymous debut release of England/Australia's esoteric engineers Dead Can Dance, turned into a complete cover. Perhaps it was inevitable.

My first attempt at recording this song in 3 years; just as challenging today as it was then. To make sure I get the production just right, I have been working first on using the original studio demo version of Ammæli, with no wet signal. I intend to add the larger components such as reverb and sub bass after this version is complete. Hopefully this is as good as it can be, but only time and effort will tell.

Ammæli (Sykurmolarnir)[Studio Demo Version]

I am immensely skeptical of acoustic Björk covers; nonetheless, I learnt this song only in fun but found that I did remarkably like the sound of it. Haphazardly recorded in one take, therefore forgive any evident foul ups. "Sun In My Mouth", one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums, from none other than the Icelandic ambassador herself, released in 2001.
