I recently stumbled upon an Ethiopian music genre called Begena Mezmur (Begena = stringed instrument used, Mezmur = Ethiopian worship music). Though I'm not religious, I find it fascinating how certain sounds have the ability to evoke a sense of "god" in their listeners, and how this feeling is shared across cultures.
