“Ashes of the Serpent” is the fiery heart of The Swamp Tones’ album — a Delta-born field-holler blues turned revival stomp. Slide guitar cuts sharp, stomps and claps thunder like a congregation, and voices rise against the venom in the soil. It’s a preacher’s cry and a rebel’s hymn — where old roots burn and new ones rise from the flame.
