I was browsing through the music I would take to the New Year’s Eve party last night. After I had put aside an endless number of tracks. Among others, the album Supetnature by “Cerrone” was also included.
And finally, I was just playing with the Traktor Controller.
What I like to mix together is disco and techno.
Maybe a no-go for absolute disco fans. But listen for yourself.
Finally, simply mixed with Ableton.


It is very likely from a music historical point of view that
Cerrone’s “Supernature” had an influence on Supermax’s “Lovemachine,” as both tracks are groundbreaking works of European Space Disco.
Here are the facts about the chronological and stylistic context:

Chronological sequence: Cerrone released the album Supernature (Cerrone III) in September 1977 . Supermax (Kurt Hauenstein) released the single “Lovemachine” also in 1977 (on the album World of Today ). Since “Supernature” was already a massive club hit in the fall of 1977, it immediately shaped the sound of the era.
Stylistic parallels: Both songs are characterized by the innovative use of synthesizers (such as the ARP Odyssey or Moog), which create hypnotic, oscillating sequencer lines.
Genre pioneer: Cerrone is considered, along with Giorgio Moroder, one of the most important influences on the European disco sound, which combined rock elements with electronic beats – exactly the mix that also made Supermax a success.
