after months of procrastination and trying my hardest at mastering this project… I’m finally posting it.
I wrote “I Can Only Feel” on January 15th, 2023. The lyrics demonstrate how one can feel ashamed of constantly falling into sin, feeling as if you're letting God down which is simply impossible because God is all-knowing meaning he has already worked his plan around your mistakes. ergo, you can ONLY feel shame and guilt if you haven't accepted God’s grace. I tried to explain that feeling through the song so not only are the lyrics explaining but the melodies really recreate what one’s mind can feel like.

I Can Only Feel.

"Are You Here?" was written on February 2nd, 2023. Along with "I Can Only Feel", this song demonstrates how one can feel guilty for not feeling sorry for turning away. I came to God honestly and vulnerably with what I was doing and how I didn't want to turn away but knew it was wrong. The lyrics express shame for not feeling "conviction" and calling out to God to bring me back to him even tho I found comfort in my own sin. I tried to recreate the cry of my heart and emptiness without God in the way the song is produced.
