I was looping this drum beat to practice my pop and slap when I decided to just record a few bars. Then I looped it and started adding some samples I bought from Splice.

I recently picked up a bass mult-effects pedal, and this was the first semblance of a track I put together after fiddling around with different effects. There are two bass tracks here, the electro-octave main bass line, and the drawn-out, strings-sounding part in the verse.

I recorded this bass line and made a thing out of it early in my return to playing bass back in September 2020. If I had to do it over, I'd tighten up the bass line and probably add some more dynamics to it.

This is another collaboration I did with Abi. This time, Abi provided the vocals and guitar and I wrote and recorded an original bass line, plus I added percussion and strings via digital instruments in my DAW.

I'm a returning musician, having taken a big break since playing in a grunge band in my early 20s. Now at the ripe age of 40, I've never been more excited or knowledgeable about music than now.

Music has a direct line to my emotions. It can make me smile, whip out a stank face, give me goose bumps, and even cry. I want to be involved in original projects that make people feel good, whether that's head-bobbing danceable tracks or smooth grooves about love and loss.
