While we wait for BARDS: Of The Shimmering Seraphs to finish physical production, in the meantime we are forging ahead with a new crop of songs for the next album. The next album will serve as a continuation of the oracle deck concept, featuring songs about "objects" - the first of which be this little song about the magical horn of the elusive and beautiful Aardvark Girl. It is also about a recently discovered strange dwarf planet at the farthest reaches of our solar system.

Gǃkúnǁʼhòmdímà  was discovered on 19 Oct 2007 at the Palomar observatory in California, at 9:09 UT. Gkunhomdima is a member of the extended scattered disc and is a trans-Neptunian object (TNO). Its orbit is inclined 23° off the ecliptic and is quite elliptical. It was knocked out of a normal orbit early in the history of the solar system, probably as Neptune migrated outward to its current position, which gives the high  inclination of Gkunhomdima’s orbit. However, there is no known orbital resonance with any other planetary body, except for its binary companion. Its ‘moon’, or secondary is called G!o’e !Hu (pronounced GOH ay KOO). Goeku means ‘horn’, or Oryx horn. And that takes us to a bit of mythology.

Gǃkúnǁʼhòmdímà is also the Beautiful Aardvark Girl of Juǀʼhoan mythology, who sometimes appears in the stories of other San peoples as a python girl or elephant girl; she defends her people and punishes wrongdoers using gǁámígǁàmì spines [devil’s thorn plant], a rain-cloud full of hail, and her magical oryx horn.

Sierra won 4 Americana Grammy awards off the main stage which is a great achievement, but also unfortunate because it would have been nice for the world to have heard her sing a tune from her lovely LP called "Trail of Flowers".  So I cover this tune to introduce you all to Sierra Ferrell.

Music. It means everything for me. 
Passion, keen desire, emotion. 
For me it's like the canvas for a painter. 
When I produce music, I can be alone. I do the lawyer. 
I can express myself. I can be lost in my vagabond thoughts.
 I write my feelings in sounds. 
Music is a language that everyone of us speaks, but it has a different meaning for all of us. 
Love, pain, getting loose, wanna rock wild or to be fakmetal.
 And when I play my music and it finds understanding ears, 
when the crowd goes crazy... they screamin' and shoutin'...
 at that moment, I feel that the world is mine.

I was joined by mezzo-soprano Bethan Morris, and the piano track was provided by Helen Roberts.

We were making a cake, and found that we are altogether much more fond of fondant than of guns...and honestly who would sign up for a mass shooting if they could join a cake tasting instead..

Del Wags is the music of Dave Wagoner: a collection of homemade tunes meant to please no particular demographic. Dave is a one- man show of rhythm guitar loops recorded in the basement, choruses born in the shower, lyrics written on the couch, and tracks mixed on the laptop (and the occasional cover). Go ahead, tap your feet.

I played only acoustic guitar and harmonica for many years, playing the same covers alone and occasionally with friends. I never thought I wanted an electric guitar or lots of music gear because I didn't want to accumulate more things. In 2019 by chance I obtained a cheap electric guitar from a friend, and my life changed as this new tool unlocked a creative door. During Covid I bought a looper and a keyboard and began teaching myself to play it, and the creative door flew wide open. I challenged myself to ride the learning curve of home computer music production. I re-tapped into my poetry-writing brain from high school and songs began flying out of me. I haven't been this creative since I was a teenager and it's pure joy.

I'm thankful to have a place here to share my creations, make connections with others, and hear so much unique and wonderful music and sound from people all over the world.
