One Word Revolution tells the story of a young girl named Evelyn who is a captive of a government-established internment camp.  One evening, she sneaks to a wall and sends a note to the other side that reads 'hello' while the guard is changing in hopes that someone will find it, respond, and send help to free her and her family.  Unbeknownst to Evelyn, the soldiers on the other side are already on edge as a rouge soldier named Moyra has broken out of jail in a neighboring city, caused a riot at the internment camp near the jail, and is headed their way.  Evelyn's note is found by a young reluctant soldier, Riley (Greg), who has been questioning the purpose of the camps for some time.  Motivated by Evelyn's letter, Riley chooses his allegiance.
