Here, the music slows down for a moment, becoming denser, and... here is the magic: the groove shifts. The percussion lightens, making way for an unmistakable guitar riff. It is the melodic ghost of the Bee Gees wandering through the night, an elegant echo of the original Saturday Night Fever.

This moment is not just nostalgia; it is the Soul of Saturday Night vibrating across generations. It is a sonic bridge that connects the epic Disco of the past with the unbridled electronic sounds of the present.

The warm, enveloping sound of the guitar, in that brief, hypnotic interlude, represents:

The Journey: The moment in the car between one club and the next, the window down, the night air messing up your hair, the mounting excitement.

The Wait: The pause while queuing, under the flickering neon lights, before diving into the new club.

The Eternal Call: The unconscious realization that Saturday Night Fever is always the same, regardless of the decade or the musical genre (be it Disco or Eurodance).

When the riff dissolves, it is as if a new door opens: the '90s bassline bursts back in, more powerful and pressing than before. You have arrived: another venue, a new dance floor, another piece of that story of free nights that no longer exist.

'The Dutch upcoming artist Colyn (@colynmusic) is the one who puts a stamp on the third EP of Infinite Depth. With two spacey and great mixed originals he laid more than a good foundation for the remixers. The title track ‘Passengers’ got remixed by the French brothers Esoteric Circle (@esotericircle) and the second original ‘Orbital Hypnosis’ got infused by the one and only Erly Tepshi (@erlyofficial).  

With the first track ‘Passengers’ the EP immediately starts off pretty determined. Soon the firm kick gets accompanied by a some pounding drums and well placed spacey synths, sounding like passengers finding their way through our universe chased by those thrilling drum sounds. 

Esoteric Circle managed to take the thrilling part of the original to a higher level with their remix. The spacey synths are making place for an appealing melody which increases the tension. This tension holds on till the very end of the track.

After being in a continuous state of space and tenseness the third track ‘Orbital Hypnosis’ adds some euphory. With its compelling break and hypnotical plucks it keeps you in a higher state of mind.  

Erly Tepshi’s remix takes you even a little bit higher by using this compelling melody as main flow through his remix. Only this flow makes some unexpected changes at the points Erly injected his typical, sometimes even distorted, plucked synths. With a heavy a breakdown almost at the end of the track this remix brings the EP to an end.'

Fur Coat’s Oddity label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family.

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft.

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration.

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. Its a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.

'Until now, IMPRESSUM was an outlet for label founders Fideles' own productions, but when a perfectly-fitting EP comes along, something has to give. The Lyon-based duo, In Anima, known for their work on Siamese as well as a contribution to Afterlife’s Unity compilation, have delivered something special with ‘XXY’ and ‘Moonwalker’.

The title track, first aired in Fideles’ Cercle live stream, is precision-built, melodic techno. The drums kick and a bassline surges into the space between. As 'XXY' grows into its final form, vocals fall from the ether and shimmering synths reciprocate the allure. The second chapter is ‘Moonwalker’, an entrancing wave of French touch flair, brilliant colours and propulsive rhythms. It puts the unmistakable In Anima spin on each fragment of sound and brings a light/dark balance to a stellar EP.'
