The individual recordings (randomly mixed together in a regularly crossfading overlapping pattern, so that there are never more than two recordings playing at the same time) were made straight to disk with no overdubs, no external controllers or sequencers, and no outboard effects apart from some EQ from a Soundcraft Notepad 124.
